The coast between Reggio and Gaeta is the most beautiful in Italy, and one of the most enchanting spots along the coastline is Ravello. High above the Amalfi Coast, the elegant and aristocratic town of Ravello sits on a 350 foot rocky spur. Offering magnificent palazzos, churches, and gardens bearing witness to its noble history, Ravello’s rich cultural life complements an unmatched, striking beauty. This apartment is conveniently situated only 1.5 km from the main square, within walking distance of the bus stop and taxi stand, ATM, post office, bank, pharmacy, and food shops. You can relax to some of the multiple weekly classical music concerts, or go sightseeing at the old estate gardens, Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone. One of the most important monuments is the Cathedral, founded in 1086, but there is also the church of San Giovanni del Toro, the churches of Santa Maria a Gradillo and Santissima Annunziata, Villa Episcopio, and the Piazza Fontana Moresca. Catch the train in Salerno, or take the bus to one of the fabulous beaches, only 20 minutes away. Take the bus down the hill to Amalfi, where you can rent a boat to explore the coastline, or allow someone else to steer the boats and hydrofoils, as you travel between Positano, Sorrento, Capri, and Salerno.
Please Note: While the Amalfi Coast is beautiful and charming, it is also steep, with many uphill and downhill stairs and walkways. In general, it is an area that is not kind to those of us with knee or mobility issues. This should be considered before booking a property in this area.
