- About The Experience
-
From the private terrace of this vacation rental along the Amalfi Coast you’ll be able gaze over the town of Positano and the sea while dining at the outdoor tables or lounging in the sun. This self-catering accommodation is just the place for two couples traveling together. The town and beach can be reached by foot.
- Location Description
-
The property is located within walking distance of the center of Positano where there are restaurants, shops, ice creameries, markets, a bank, post office, and the Spiaggia Grande Beach further down the pedestrian road. There are also bus stops in town that can take you up and down to other beautiful towns along the coast, including Amalfi. Amalfi is a town that dates back to the 6th century and was once an important trading center with historical and medieval architecture throughout the town. The main sites include the Duomo, in Amalfi's center, the cathedral of Sant' Andrea, which dates back to the 11th century, and the Cloister of Paradise. There is also a museum dedicated to the works of Morelli and a museum where you can view artifacts of Amalfi's long and interesting history. During the summer months, there are daily ferries leaving from Positano to Capri, Sorrento, and Naples.
Please Note: While the Amalfi Coast is beautiful and charming, it is also steep, with many uphill and downhill stairs and walkways. In general, it is an area that is not kind to those of us with knee or mobility issues. This should be considered before booking a property in this area.
Nearby Attractions: shops, restaurants, cafes, markets, the beach, bus stop, Amalfi (Duomo, ancient cathedral, museums, ferries), Ravello, Sorrento, Naples airport.

Overall:
We had a fantastic time! Positano is the jewel of the Amalfi Coast and the property was well-located. There were plenty of beaches, shops, and restaurants within walking distance (with a few stairs) to keep one occupied.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and the outside areas were amazing.
Enjoyed Least:
If I had to pick something, I suppose it has to be the steps, even though they weren't terrible. There was nothing bad about our trip.
Surrounding Area:
The beauty and history of the region. The entire Amalfi Coast was beautiful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano was the nearest town and was a short walk from the villa.
Tips or Restaurants:
Some nights after a day on the beach we would stop by the Lattaria Market/Grocery store to pick up some prosciutto, cheese, bread, wine and a few other home-cooked items from their deli area to eat on the villa patio. The view was so great and the food was so delicious that these nights were definitely a highlight - even with the wonderful restaurants in town. Give it a try!
Directions:
We had our driver talk with Filomena the house manager on the phone, so it was pretty easy.
