(ex: Florence, Positano)
A: Casa Blu is on the Amalfi Coast and we were there the last of May for very warm weather and beautiful nights. The village is Ravello and we were completely charmed by the little town; a lovely old village with excellent but not overly expensive restaurants. The villa came completely full of food so we were cooking our own food sometimes and eating out others. Ravello is also the site of a lovely old castle where musical performance occur all the time. You will be enchanted! As for transportation, AVOID Naples and driving there at all costs. I think you will find it most cost effective to fly in and out of Rome, train to Salerno, and either get a driver or a bus into Ravello. Here is the thing...there is NOOOOO place to park in Ravello. We had a car and drove from Florence. My husband found a parking spot on the side of the road above the villa and REFUSED to move it for fear he would never get it back. You will find it easy to get to the various parts of the coastal region by bus and way less frustrating than dealing with the crazy Italian drivers. I do highly recommend arranging transportation at least one day and driving to Pompei it is not to be missed, but Naples is a dirty unsafe city and really not worth the aggrevation. Again, I highly recommend Casa Blu. I remember fondly sitting on the veranda with some cheese and wine and watching the lights come up in Amalfi and other smaller towns around the water line. Raise a glass from the Parkers!
