About The Experience

This elegant Paris apartment on the left bank of the Seine, an excellent choice for a couple with older children, is located in one of the most desired sections of the city. All of the main sights are within walking distance or metro ride of this chic apartment rental in Paris. Not only is this a perfect pied à terre for those wishing to be centrally located, it is also charming and well-equipped, as more than 30 happy clients have testified!

Location Description

Located just off St Germain des Pres, this central Paris apartment is very near the Musee d'Orsay, home of stunning Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masterpieces. Other attractions in the area include the Hotel des Invalides to the south, the Jardin des Tuileries just north across the river, the Champs-Elysees, and the Louvre. You're also well located for necessities and transport outside the immediate area: it is only a five-minute walk to the Rue de Bac metro stop, and three minutes to a laundry facility. Within a block or two there is also a grocery store, a fromagerie, a restaurant, a patisserie, and a charcuterie.

Nearby Attractions: The city of Paris! Explore Paris on foot to find the hidden treasures of the city of light. Unknown too many are the Beehives of the beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg – hit the beehives at the right time in the fall and you’ll be able to purchase the honey! The popular cocktail bar, Les Etages, has two “branches”, one located in the Marais; the other in St Germain. The covered market, Marche St.-Quentin, dates back to 1860, and has 30 plus stalls of mouth- watering cheese, baked goods, meats and more. La Perlerie is a tiny store offering bronze and silver bracelet and necklace charms and you can assemble your jewelry right in the store. For some of the best steak frites of Paris, stop by Le Relais de l’Entrecôte, known simply as l’Entrecôte, but expect a wait of at least a half-hour!

Overall:
I followed my Travel Advisor's suggestions regarding this apartment. I was very pleased with both the apartment and the location! Paris is beautiful with lots to see and do. It was a great experience for me and my children!
Enjoyed Most:
The location by far was optimal. There is a bakery on the corner, specialty food stores across the street, walking distance to the Louvre and the Seine River all in all you cannot beat where this apartment is located!
Enjoyed Least:
I really enjoyed the property and it was perfect for us. The complimentary hair dryer was very helpful to have; we loved it!
Surrounding Area:
The stores and neighborhood in general. All important needs were in walking distance and we felt very safe.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were in central Paris but we were a block away from the Seine River and the Orsay and Louvre Museums!
Tips or Restaurants:
Well, in the summer your suggestions for bug sprays, etc. would be key as there are no screens on the windows; that may be something you may wish to specify. Also, keep in mind that there is no microwave.
Directions:
We took a taxi; the address to specify upon arrival is indicated on the voucher. Take special note!
Check In Out:
The key holder is a sweet lady, but she does not speak English. Also, as you check in, perhaps have her show you how to get out of the complex and then re-enter with the key code. It was a small obstacle but she is wonderful and helped me quite a bit throughout the week!

Overall:
The experience was great!! We had never rented an apartment in Paris and it made life so much more relaxed and convenient. I LOVED it!!
Enjoyed Most:
Location!! It was perfectly located in my favorite section of Paris.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen was tiny. Very efficient, but tiny.
Surrounding Area:
Love, love, love this area! It's in walking distance of all my favorite spots. Couldn't have a better location from my point of view.
Tips or Restaurants:
Can't think of any extra things to bring that wasn't on your list. FYI, I was thrilled there was a hair dryer in the apartment. Restaurants - best ever meal Au Moulin Au Vent. Expensive, but worth every penny. I used to go there every 6 months when I traveled for business and it's just as good as ever. Try the frogs legs!! Another favorite Mon Vieil Ami on Ile St Louis. Unusual food especially focused on amazing vegetables. Expensive again but well worth it. New discovery Cafe St Regis on Ile St Louis. Best onion soup I've ever had!! Everything we ate for lunch was delicious!! Mix of French and tourists but felt very French.
Directions:
We went by taxi from airport so no problem.
Check In Out:
Was extremely easy.
