The southern and western coasts feature beautiful white and pinkish beaches, while the east coast has waves ideal for light surfing. No major car rental companies operate on the island, but small busses take passengers to most areas of the island, making it easy to get around without a car. Although most of the population is composed of English-speaking descendants of African slaves, Barbados also has immigrants from all over the world.
