The property is located two kilometers from Chateaurenard, a characteristic Provence town surrounded by orchards. Chateaurenard has shops, restaurants, markets, and a library. Today you can still see two towers of the 12th century chateau where the town got its name. Chateaurenard specialties are frigoleio (marzipan-covered grapes) and galet de la plaine de Crau (a small marzipan cake). Avignon, which is about 12 kilometers away is perfect for a day trip. It is full of winding streets and ancients buildings home to shops, restaurants, and markets. Energetic and lively, partly because of its university, Avignon has countless activities and places to see. The noteworthy sites include the Palais des Papes, the Musee Carnavalet, and the Notre Dame des Doms cathedral. Other great day trip destinations in the region include St-Remy-de-Provence and Cavaillon.

This villa is surrounded by 50 hectares of orchards and fruit trees. It has a terrace furnished with a barbecue and a table with chairs. The private swimming pool (15m x 5m) is surrounded by a sun deck (part of which is covered) with sun loungers. Nearby is a pool house with a sink, shower, and separate toilet room. The property is set behind an electronic gate and parking is available within the grounds. Please be aware that the caretakers live in a house on the property grounds, but maintain complete privacy at all times. There is also another house on the estate (with a private entrance) that can be rented at the same time to accommodate more people. Please see the name below under Please Note.

Ground floor: There is a living room with couches, satellite TV, DVD player, and access to the terrace. The dining area has a table with chairs and the open kitchen is equipped with a cook-top, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms on this floor. The first bedroom has a 160 cm queen-sized bed and satellite TV and the second bedroom has one 90 cm single bed. The first bathroom has a sink, tub with a handheld shower, and separate toilet room. The second bathroom has a sink, shower, and separate toilet room.
First floor: A staircase leads up to two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Each of the bedrooms has a 180 cm king-sized bed, satellite TV, and an ensuite bathroom with a sink, shower, and separate toilet room.

Overall:
The house was well-equipped, new, roomy, quiet, and had a great kitchen with a huge pool.
Enjoyed Most:
The owners were very accommodating, and brought cases of fruit three times during our stay.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Really needed a car to get around. The house came with 5 bikes, so could ride around the vineyards and orchards, but really not within walking distance to any dining locations. Also the drain in the master shower was very slow.
Surrounding Area:
Security, peace and quiet. We rode bikes through the vineyards and orchards every evening without concern for traffic or hoodlums.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Chateurenard. We walked to the supermarket the first day, but was about two miles and not practical for any volume of purchase.
Tips or Restaurants:
St Remy is close for restaurants. The house is nicely situated for trips to Arles, Nime, Le Beaux, Pont du Gard, and of course Avignon.
Directions:
Directions provided were easy to follow, especially with the map. Due to a 12-hour flight delay, we ended up arriving at the Avignon TGV at midnight. The owners were very accommodating and sent their daughter to meet us at the house at 1:00 am, so we were not stranded in the middle of the night.
