Customer Reviews
Overall:
This is a wonderful cottage. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate, so we had much rain. The cottage is very cozy which made it perfect for a wet, cold weather trip.
Enjoyed Most:
The garden.
Surrounding Area:
Beautiful countryside and villages. Everyone is very friendly.
Nearby Events or Locales:
You are in a wonderful small town.
Tips or Restaurants:
We cooked all our meals in the house so no recommendations for restaurants.
Check In Out:
Apparently, it is important to contact the key holder by phone. We thought that we had given our arrival information clearly enough so that this would not be a problem. We did meet the key holder a bit by accident, which was perfect. They are very nice.

Enjoyed Most:
The home has a woodburning fireplace, a CD player and an extensive collection of books. Very nice. The living room goes out to a lovely private garden.
Enjoyed Least:
Every attempt was made to get me a hot plate to cook with since the AGA was out of service but it was obvious that the shower head was broken, and it would have been really nice to know that ahead of time. I don't often take baths and have really long hair. So washing up in a tub and attempting to rinse my hair with a ceramic jug was a bit dodgy. Editor's note: The client knew ahead of time about the AGA. The shower head has been fixed.
Surrounding Area:
The house is in a great location in the center of Chilbolton with easy access to Winchester, Stockbridge and Salisbury. The town boasts a small store and pub and both had very friendly proprietors who were very helpful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Probably Barton-Stacey less than a mile away, so within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring Wellies as the area is full of walking trails. The walks are really beautiful but can be muddy in the trainers!!!
