Experience rural Tuscany while being close to the city of Siena and only 10 minutes away from the Superstrada linking Siena to Florence. The estate is divided into 4 detached houses and 6 apartments (6 units which we list on our site). This is an ideal location for visiting Siena, as well as the many nearby hill towns, most of which are less than an hour away by car or train.

The estate is located near the village of Costafabbri, and just 5 km from the center of historical Siena. It is also about ten minutes' drive from the main Superstrada linking Siena to Florence. This is a convenient and easy highway to access the Chianti region and the towns of central Tuscany, many of which are within an hours' drive. You're bound to spend lots of time wandering around Siena, a picturesque city that is a well preserved example of the Tuscan Middle Ages, and a treasure trove of gothic palaces, churches, and museums. It is well known for its exiting bi-annual bareback horse races, the Palio, held on July 2 and August 16. Take a day trip to San Gimignano, known for its ancient towers, and to Volterra, famous for its alabaster. You can also take a bus or train for a day trip to Florence.

This apartment is situated within a small complex of 10 apartments. The property is in a peaceful position and has extensive views over the typical Tuscan style hills with olive groves and vineyards. All residences share a well-tended garden and a swimming pool (8m x 15m, open May 1 - September 30, from 9:00 am - 7:00 pm) surrounded by sun beds, chairs, and umbrellas, and with a bathroom and a barbecue. Each accommodation also has its own reserved parking space.

First Floor: This apartment features an open floor plan with a combination living and dining room as well as a kitchenette with a dishwasher. The living area is furnished with two couches, a small television, and the dining table with chairs. There are two bedrooms in this apartment. The first bedroom has a queen size bed (160 cm) and the second bedroom has two twin beds (90 cm). The apartment has one bathroom with a shower. 50 meters (164 ft) from the apartment is a private outdoor dining area.

Overall:
The time spent at Terra di Siena was wonderful and I would go back in a heartbeat.
Enjoyed Most:
The property is centrally located in Tuscany and makes travel to the many small, lovely hill towns very easy. The property itself is quite beautiful; the grounds and gardens are thoughtfully arranged and maintained. Although many of the postings on the Rentvillas website indicated the contrary, our apartment had some basic supplies furnished, such as toilet paper, soap, dishwasher detergent and garbage bags.
Enjoyed Least:
Everything about the property was lovely. The only complaint we would have is the many cats that were on the property. One managed to get into our apartment, unknown to us, and created quite a scare.
Surrounding Area:
The close proximity to the Superstrada and to Siena.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest small town was Costafabbri. It was not within walking distance for me and my group of friends.
Tips or Restaurants:
Personally, I would not bring anything from home. You can buy what you need in the nearby supermarket, Conad's. This market is opened until 7:00pm on Saturday and is about a 10 - 15 minute drive from the property. There were also a couple of mini-marts, a bit more expensive, that were close by. There is an inexpensive pizzeria-restaurant in Costababbri that has good food.

Enjoyed Most:
The property was close to Siena, but out in the countryside, with very good views, quiet location and a great swimming pool which the kids 13 and 16 loved.
Enjoyed Least:
Louisa, who met us, was very pleasant and sorted out our problem with the television promptly. Air con would have been nice but not essential for us.
Surrounding Area:
Beautiful views, good 5K running/walking route to 'Belcaro' castle and close to Siena and the main road.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Costafabrio was about 5k away - walkable but up and down a steep hill. We drove.
Tips or Restaurants:
We English took tea bags and lots of sun cream. The nearest restaurant was La Capanna dei Cavaliere. It was perfect. Fantastic sunset views, excellent food and good service in a friendly, family atmosphere. The walk to from the pool 'keeps you fit' - it's only about 300m but that's 300m is either straight up or straight down!

Overall:
Everything was well-kept and beautiful
Enjoyed Most:
We enjoyed the grounds at the property most. Our villa was somewhat small, but we enjoyed sharing barbecue facilities with friends in another villa and visiting at the pool. Also, the location in proximity to Siena was very good.

Surrounding Area:
Siena was a beautiful city, and we enjoyed visiting the small medieval hill towns close by. It was also not a far drive to Florence and Pisa. The Tuscan scenery was beautiful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Costa Fabri was within walking distance, but on a busy road.
Tips or Restaurants:
Be sure to arrive early enough to get groceries and supplies on Saturday. We barely made it in time and were rushed, forgetting some items. There are absolutely no supplies soaps, sponges, dish towels, paper towels, salt, etc. in the villa. Either bring your own or buy it before you need it on Saturday.
Check In Out:
Everything went smoothly. They were kind and helpful in recommending a restaurant for our evening meal.
