The property is located within walking distance of a restaurant and trattoria. Six kilometers away is Montespertoli, a town dating back to the Etruscan times. There are numerous annual festivals throughout the year celebrating everything from wine to doughnuts to ecology. There are also a number of notable churches and ancient buildings, including the Chiesa di Sant’Andrea and the Villa Sonnino. Short drives away that offer wonderful views of the countryside are to Florence and San Gimignano. When in Florence, visit the Piazza San Giovanni, also known as the religious heart of the city, and you’ll see the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, built in the 15th century. Other marvelous attractions include the Ponte Vecchio where you can go shopping, the Accademia Gallery full of Florentine paintings, and of course the Uffizi Gallery. There is also a train station in Florence that can take you quickly and conveniently to other cities in the region. San Gimignano is well known for its towers and rich history dating back to Etruscan times. It is a wonderful place to wander and explore, and major sights include the 12th century Duomo, the People's Palace, and museums dedicated to artwork and archeology. Siena and Pisa are also close enough for day trips.

This farmhouse is made up of a main house with two independent units and two apartments, one of which is the owner’s house. It is situated on a farming estate in a small hamlet of houses. There is a large shared garden furnished with tables, chairs, umbrellas, a barbecue, and table tennis, as well as a shared swimming pool (7m x 14m) which is open from the beginning of May to the end of September. Parking is available within the property grounds. Each unit has a private terrace furnished with a table and chairs.

Ground Floor: A living room is furnished with a sofa bed (comfortable for one, 30 euros per week), two arm chairs, satellite TV, and a wood dining table with chairs. The kitchen corner is equipped with an oven, cook-top, refrigerator, freezer, and dishwasher, as well as a table with chairs. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen-sized bed (160 cm), and two bathrooms, each with a sink, toilet, and shower.

It was about an 8 on a scale of 10.
Enjoyed Most:
It was in a beautiful area located close to the areas we wanted to explore--Siena, Florence, Pisa.
We enjoyed the local restaurant--great food and friendly people.
The rooms were spacious and clean.
Enjoyed Least:
The rooms were damp and a little musty. If we wanted to warm the rooms we had to pay extra for heat. There also was no dryer (typical in Italy) so it was hard to dry clothes. The washing machine took 2 hours to run a cycle.
Surrounding Area:
Beautiful.
Tips or Restaurants:
The restaurant nearby was excellent.
Directions:
We had a GPS. It would have been helpful to know the location of the nearest Coop.
Check In Out:
We waited 30 minutes for the owner to come check us out even though we specified the night before the exact time we were leaving. We were driving to the Amalfi Coast the next day and wanted to leave at 9 instead of 9:30 because of the great distance.

Overall:
Very enjoyable; nice, clean, and spacious. Met the needs of our group of 3.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool. It was fairly private and refreshing. The kitchen was nicely equipped and had a nice BBQ.
Enjoyed Least:
The parking area. It was a challenge to get out of due to the very narrow street. There were often barking dogs at night.
Surrounding Area:
Beautiful vineyards and olive groves and the little restaurant nearby. Other restaurants in the vicinity.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Monterspertoli; a car is required.
Tips or Restaurants:
Osteria dell'Ignorante is very good--about 5-minutes by car. Great views and the food is good; the desserts at Osteria dell Ignornate (tiramisu, cheesecake, and panna cotta) are awesome.

Overall:
Very nice indeed. People were ever so friendly and after a couple of days we felt quite part of the small community.
Enjoyed Most:
Neat and clean.
Enjoyed Least:
There was a sewer smell when the shower was in use and/or the toilet was flushed.
The unit could use new pillows and mattresses in the bedrooms.
Surrounding Area:
The scenery.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montespertoli, which was approximately 6 km away.
Tips or Restaurants:
Make sure you have a GPS and paper maps, as well!
