Experience rural Tuscany while being close to the city of Siena, and only 10 minutes away from the Superstrada linking Siena to Florence. The estate is divided into 4 detached houses and 6 apartments (6 units which we list on our site). This is an ideal location for visiting Siena, as well as the many nearby hill towns, most of which are less than an hour away by car or train.

The estate is located near the village of Costafabbri, and just 5 km from the center of historical Siena. It is also about ten minutes' drive from the main Superstrada linking Siena to Florence. This is a convenient and easy highway to access the Chianti region and the towns of central Tuscany, many of which are within an hours' drive. You're bound to spend lots of time wandering around Siena, a picturesque city that is a well preserved example of the Tuscan Middle Ages, and a treasure trove of gothic palaces, churches, and museums. It is well known for its exiting bi-annual bareback horse races, the Palio, held on July 2 and August 16. Take a day trip to San Gimignano, known for its ancient towers, and to Volterra, famous for its alabaster. You can also take a bus or train for a day trip to Florence.

This apartment is situated within a small complex of 10 apartments. The property is in a peaceful position and has extensive views over the typical Tuscan style hills with olive groves and vineyards. All residences share a well-tended garden and a swimming pool (8m x 15m, open May 1 - September 30, from 9:00 am - 7:00 pm) surrounded by sun beds, chairs, and umbrellas, and with a bathroom and a barbecue. Each accommodation also has its own reserved parking space.

This cottage is set apart from the other apartments and has a small private garden furnished for outdoor dining.
Ground Floor: This house has an open layout with a living and dining room and a well-equipped kitchenette with a dishwasher, electric oven, toaster, and gas cook-top.
First Floor: Upstairs, there are three bedrooms. The first has a queen size bed (170 cm) and an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub. The second room has two single beds and the third room has one single bed. There is a bathroom with a shower and the washing machine

Overall:
The farm villa was perfect for 5 people. Overall it was a positive experience.
Enjoyed Most:
The surrounding views.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen - there was only one plug in and it was on the floor level. Hard to start the coffee and tea water.
Surrounding Area:
Siena was an awesome, and the views were exceptional.
Directions:
We used a GPS for everything which helped very much.

Overall:
Nice place, we would stay there again if we were in the Siena area. Make sure to bring all the extras recommended. You can buy just everything you need at the local Conad supermarket.
Enjoyed Most:
The view from our dining-living room was excellent. The pool area was great for our little girl, with a big plus being other families with similar-age children for her to play with.
Enjoyed Least:
Very minimally equipped kitchen, with a mix of silverware; almost no cooking utensils.
Surrounding Area:
The roads around the villa were great for running; I wish I had brought my road bike! The Enoteca Italia in Siena was a great place to spend a few hours sampling wines from the area.
Tips or Restaurants:
Montelbucci has a nice new restaurant and a pizzeria, we ate at both several times. The pizzeria made a great lunch to go of pasta and side dishes.

The view was beautiful with flowers in the garden and the weather was sunny in the 80's the entire time.

I really can't say that I disliked anything about it.
Surrounding Area:
It was very quiet and peaceful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Costafabbri was the closest town, and it had a small grocery and restaurant.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you do venture out for a walk at night, take a right out of the driveway and walk a little way to see the Duomo in Siena across the valley all lit up. There were no dish soap, sponges, condiments or charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill. You can buy these items at the large grocery store in Siena.
Check In Out:
To check out we only had to leave the key on the table.
