Possibly one of the best ways to enjoy a Tuscany vacation rental in agritourism is this Tuscany apartment. During your farm holiday in Tuscany, you will be surrounded not only by beautiful grounds, but by a large working farm that produces everything the Tuscan region is renowned for: wine, olive oil, visanto, and grappa. This farmhouse accommodation in Tuscany is within an original and carefully restored building—a quiet, peaceful area with great views and an excellent locale for taking day trips throughout Tuscany.

Located on one of the larger working farms in this region, this property comes under the Italian category of “agritourismo.” It is situated in a beautiful rural position, but its place between Siena and Florence also makes this a great jumping-off point for day trips throughout Tuscany. The nearest village is Staggia, a beautiful little walled town with a castle overgrown with greenery. Here you'll also find the basics, from food to a post office and a café. Nearby Siena is a treasure trove of medieval architecture and authentic Tuscan culture-- including the famed annual bareback horserace! Other great locales in the region include San Gimignano, Volterra, and Florence.

(35 Hectares) This apartment is located on a working farm that produces wine, olive oil, Vinsanto, and grappa, as well as various grain crops. There are also uncultivated areas which, in the spring, are covered with poppies. Picturesque paths through these areas lead to adjacent farms. The original 19th century farmhouse, in which this apartment is located, has been carefully restructured and transformed into six modernized apartments, each with its own entrance. The house is located on a hilltop, affording a panoramic view over the hills of the Chianti district. Surrounding the house is a communal garden and shared swimming pool (14m x 7m). There is also a cement tennis court in the center of the farmstead (racquets are available). A large barbecue and covered dining table are the center of the communal area, along with ping-pong, children's games, a play house, a slide, and a swing. Small individual tables and barbecues are also provided for the convenience of individual families. A selection of mountain bikes is available for use. A large parking area is located in front of the house, and there are shared laundry facilities.
At the completion of the harvest season, a celebration is held, during which all guests are invited to sample the many flavors and products of the land. In the cantina (cellar), run by the head of the family, there is a shop where guests may purchase bottles of wine for their own use. The owner's family occupies a separate unit in the farmhouse building. The family cares for the garden and provides homemade baked pastries as part of the welcome extended to new guests, or in celebration of special events.

Overall:
It was great. The owner was very hospitable.
Enjoyed Most:
Great locations for us, beautiful property in itself, and it was easy to get to and find.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The tennis court was not maintained.
Surrounding Area:
Beautiful and well maintained, great location.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia- not really walkable because of the narrow curvy roads, but time-wise it was within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa had everything. We were advised to bring way too much stuff that we did not need in the end. The kitchen is fully stocked. you do not need coffee filters, condiments, towels...they have it all. What they do not have you can buy in the big PAM store 10 minutes away.
Check In Out:
Very easy.

Overall:
I would definitely stay again. The walks in the vineyard and olive groves in the evening were just wonderful - so were the fig trees we found.
Enjoyed Most:
This was a lovely place, the view was gorgeous, the accommodations were very good and clean, and the grounds were just beautiful. The owners were also very hospitable and cooked us dinner one night - just lovely
Unpleasant Surprises:
There were several apartments on the property and there were children in some of the apartments. Their idea of quiee and mine is a bit different.
Surrounding Area:
Tuscany is beautiful. We took beautiful drives, ate at fantastic restaurants and picnicked in the country side. What could be better
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia - yes you could walk, but a bit far.
Tips or Restaurants:
No one should come to this area without going to Poggio Antico in Montalcino and Ristorante Badia a Coltibuono - superb.

Overall:
Thank you for the warm welcome and hospitality.
Enjoyed Most:
The view, the olive trees and grapevines, the pool, our Gazebo sitting area, the stone barn and stone fence. We were welcomed warmly and treated well. We liked having wine or olive oil to purchase. We liked being able to walk back and see the grapes being picked. We liked being able to do laundry. We liked our cake. We loved the planters and the fig trees, pomegranate trees, lemon trees, etc. We liked the cats and the lizards. All in all very charming.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The front door lock. We managed to lock our selves out.
Also, there was a coffee maker, but we drink tea. Would have liked to have a teapot and tea kettle.
Surrounding Area:
Chianti trail. The castles, museums. Very close to drive to Siena, Florence, Volterra, Monteriggioni.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Staggia. Yes, you could walk there, but we had a car.
Tips or Restaurants:
Il Piccolo Castello in Monteriggioni.
Excellent restaurant in old monastery at Badia ai Colti Buono.
