Overall:
It went very well. The villa is very nice except that in the heat of the day there is no air conditioning.
Enjoyed Most:
The view! It is a spectacular one.
Enjoyed Least:
The beds and the lack of air conditioning. Also, the washing machine is very difficult to use. I recommend that the owners print out directions on how to use the washer.
Surrounding Area:
The quaintness and the lack of hustle bustle.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Milo is witin walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
There is a nice restaurant within walking distance and I highly recommend the little restaurant as you enter Gierre which is on the way to the Autostrada.

Enjoyed Most:
Plenty of room.
Big yard area, though pretty overgrown and weedy.
Kitchen was nice.
Shutters gave lots of quiet and kept the light out.
Enjoyed Least:
Beds and pillows, particularly in master bedroom, were not good.
Lighting was a bit substandard.
Surrounding Area:
View and rural area. People very friendly.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Milo was about ten minutes away which has a small store and a couple of reasonable restaurants.

Enjoyed Most:
Atmosphere-terrific setting and wonderful ambiance
Enjoyed Least:
Rain and cold in October. The old farm kitchen was wonderful but an upgrade of the "new kitchen", particularly the stove would be great!!
Surrounding Area:
Views, vineyards, trees and of course Mt. Etna.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Milo was within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Arrange a chef for a fabulous meal.

Overall:
The owners were charming and very helpful, and their chef was outstanding.
Enjoyed Most:
You felt like you were in old Italy; it was very special
Enjoyed Least:
It was a little isolated, but you get used to it, once you explore the nooks and crannies.
Surrounding Area:
The small villages, the local market, the smiling people, willing to help you in any way and make you feel at home and welcome. Don't miss the the four arches restaurant in Milo - great home cooking - also, Villagrande winery. You can fill your own bottle with local wine for about a Euro.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Milo was within walking distance.

Overall:
We were 3 couples and it worked well for us. For a family, the villa could accommodate two more persons, each in separate rooms.
It did not bother us, but others could be spooked at the thought of living on the sides of an active volcano.
Enjoyed Most:
Quiet location - 10 acres property planted with hazelnut, chestnut, and walnut trees, grapes and apples. Wonderful terrace with beautiful views towards the sea. Large rooms offer privacy for three couples. Well equipped kitchen. Keyholders are charming and helpful.
Enjoyed Least:
Some of the beds are very hard and noisy. This is the reason that I rated the bedrooms as "Fair".
Electric lighting levels ideal for conversation, but weak for reading. One bathroom has very small bathtub - difficult to take showers in.
Surrounding Area:
Convenient location to explore the area around Mt. Etna and the Eastern and Southern coast of Sicily. Easy separate day trips to top of Mt Etna, Taormina, Giardini Naxos, Syracusa, Noto and Ragusa. Doable separate day trips to Agrigento, Villa Imperiale del Casale and Caltagirone.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Walking distance from Milo and minutes away from Zafferana, which offers a choice of supermarkets and restaurants.
Tips or Restaurants:
Good nearby restaurants - Parco dei Principi Zafferana, Murgos between Zafferana and Giarre. Buy fresh fish in the Acireale market near the Duomo and barbecue it at the villa. After trying about 20 different Sicilian wines the best, in our opinion, were red wine, Patria Etna DOC and white wine, Regaleali. Get a "7" calling card to be used on public phones about 60 minutes of calling time to US for 5 Euros.
Check In Out:
We communicated via the keyholder's mother, who speaks and understands a little bit of English. For someone who only speaks English, communications might be slightly challenging. In any case, the keyholders are patient and very charming.

Overall:
The property was a lot larger and more idyllic than I imagined and the pictures do not do it justice!
Enjoyed Most:
Eating on the veranda with views of the Mediterranean sea swimming in the sunshine in the large pool and barbecuing in the evening.
Enjoyed Least:
The cleaning charge of 110 Euros seemed quite expensive.
Surrounding Area:
The villa was situated perfectly between Mount Etna and the sea. It was accessible to some nice beaches such as Giardini-Naxos and picturesque towns at Taormina and Syracuse.
Nearby Events or Locales:
There were a couple of restaurants, butcher, baker, greengrocer, general shop and bar in Milo which were all within walking distance of the villa.
Tips or Restaurants:
I'd definitely recommend a trip to Syracuse which is approximately a 1 and 1/2 hour drive.

Overall:
we found it very relaxing - but we would have liked better weather during our stay!
Enjoyed Most:
Access to restaurants; the view; the town has a nice ambiance.
Enjoyed Least:
Due to the fact that our cell phone did not work it was difficult to get access to a phone - a lot of phone booths did not work. -
Surrounding Area:
Views and restaurants.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring an international cell phone. Try the very good restaurant - Al Bracere in Milo

Overall:
My family and I enjoyed the villa immensely. The view was great we were able to see moonrises every night over the sea from the veranda. We wanted to be away from it all and we were. We would definitely do it again.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool was refreshing.
Surrounding Area:
The surrounding area was open and the views looked down over trees, flowers, and vineyards. A few houses were somewhat close but not in the immediate view. Milo was within walking distance with nice little shops for food, produce and gelato. During our stay there was a music and wine festival with tasty food, music, and a little playground for the kids.
