Maiori Villas and Vacation Rentals
From Minori, the S.S.163 leads straight to the fishing village of Maiori, once a popular summer playground of the ancient Romans. It’s here on the southern end of the costiera that you’ll find Spiaggia di Maiori, the largest beach on the Amalfi Coast.

Nearby Erchie, a hamlet of Maiori, also has a lovely beach (a UNESCO World Heritage site) flanked by ancient towers. Above Maiori lies the Castello di San Nicola de Thoro-Plano, a Norman fortification. It’s accessible on foot and offers beautiful views; steps wind up through neighborhoods and lemon groves.
Don’t Miss:
- Meandering the Sentiero dei Limoni (Lemon Trail), arguably the coast’s most picturesque walk (45 minutes) that connects Maiori and Minori through lemon groves.
- Exploring the Capo d’Orso Promontory, a nature park where the mountains meet the sea. Tip: Hike the trail up to the Sanctuary of Maria Santissima Avvocata, a chapel built in 1485 and still only accessible on foot.
- Tasting eggplant with chocolate, an unlikely pairing traditionally prepared on August 15th, to celebrate Ferragosto.
- Walking to the Abbey of Santa Maria d’Olearia, an ancient monastery built into natural rock. The frescoes are still incredibly vivid!
