The charms of Cortona are just outside the door of this historic apartment with a loft which is situated along one of the city’s most beautiful streets. Crafted from red brick in the traditional Tuscan style, the tri-level house is a cozy getaway for a couple visiting Cortona and the surrounding towns in Tuscany and Umbria.

Location Description

The apartment is located on a lovely street in the center of Cortona, an ancient Etruscan town full of art, history and culture. Explore the Piazza della Repubblica (300 m away) frescoed churches from the 13th century, the original city walls and ancient tombs dating back to the second century BC. Other sites include the shrine of St. Margaret, the Fortress of Girifalco and the hermitage of Le Celle, There are many restaurants and trattorias featuring delicious Tuscan dishes, and there are excellent ice cream shops. There are also shops selling antiques, crafts, wines, and olive oils. Services include a supermarket, bank/ATMs, post office and pharmacy. Great day trip destinations from the property are Arezzo, Perugia or Siena, which can be reached either by train or car. Free parking is 100 meters away from the apartment. The nearest train stations are Terontola-Cortona and Camucia-Cortona.

Exterior Description

The apartment is located on a beautiful street in the city center and has an entrance on the ground floor (no elevator). Outside of the apartment, via a separate entrance, there is a furnished outdoor space that is shared with neighbors.

Interior Description

Ground Floor: The apartment entrance opens onto a staircase and the kitchen/dining area, which features stone walls, a fireplace, dining table for four and a kitchen with a stove, oven, toaster, American coffee maker and TV.

First Floor: The lounge is furnished with a sofa, and there is a bathroom with a shower, sink, toilet and hairdryer. A staircase leads to the loft.

Loft/Third Floor: The loft, which is open to the staircase and first floor via a rail, is furnished with a small king-size futon bed (175 cm) and dresser.
