Location Description

The apartment is located in the center of Cortona, an ancient Etruscan town full of art, history and culture. From the apartment guests can walk to the shrine of St. Margaret, the Fortress of Girifalco and the hermitage of Le Celle. Tour frescoed churches from the 13th century, and explore the original city walls and ancient tombs dating back to the second century BC. There are many restaurants and trattorias featuring delicious Tuscan dishes, and there are excellent ice cream shops. There are also shops selling antiques, crafts, wines, and olive oils. Services include a supermarket, bank/ATMs, post office and pharmacy. Great day trip destinations from the property are Arezzo, Perugia or Siena, which can be reached either by train or car. Free parking is available 350 meters from the apartment, and paid parking is 300 meters away—both are outside of the city walls.

Exterior Description

The walk-up apartment (no elevator) is located on the second floor of a building in the historical center of Cortona. The building was once a noble family’s private palace.

Interior Description

Second Floor (no elevator): The living room features antique furniture, including a sofa, love seat, noteworthy paintings and beautiful ceilings. There is a library with a sofa and writing desk, as well as small office with a desk and a wall mural. The cozy dining room is furnished with a round table for four, two armchairs, a stone fireplace and LCD TV. A doorway leads to the kitchen, which is equipped with a stove, oven, dishwasher, toaster, electric tea kettle and American coffee maker. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed (160 cm). There are two separate bathrooms, one with a shower, sink, toilet and bidet, and one with a bathtub, sink and toilet. There is also a washing machine.
