Location Description

This villa is located about 2 km uphill from the beach town of Plakias. The sand runs in a long strip around the bay, offering areas of both sand and pebbles; there are also spots good for snorkeling and, at the far end, for nudists. The atmosphere of the town can be busy at times, and there are plenty of restaurants along with two discos and a number of bars. The town is an excellent base for walking and cycling in the quiet countryside, offering paths at every level of difficulty. Other interesting destinations in the surrounding area are Fragokastello castle, Preveli monastery, Preveli Palm Beach, Kotsifou and Kourtalioti gorges, Chora Sfakion, and Krioneritis Mountain. You’ll also want to take a day trip to Rethymnon to visit the sixteenth century Venetian Fortezza, imposing in itself but also the location of the annual Rethymnon Renaissance Festival. If you’re interested in the history of the island you may also want to step into the Historical and Folk Art Museum for a taste of traditional Cretan ceramics, textiles, artifacts, jewelry, and clothing from across the centuries.

Exterior Description

Built on a hill, this two-story villa overlooks the area of Plakias and the sea. In the garden you'll find a lawn area, roses, and olive trees. Steps lead down to a private swimming pool (11.25m x 4.5m, 0.65-1.7m deep) surrounded by a sun terrace. The house itself has several covered terraces with stunning panoramic views of the area. Ample parking space for up to four cars is provided. The nearest neighboring house is about 800 meters away.

Interior Description

(240 m2)
Ground Floor: An iron gate and then a wooden door lead into this villa, where there is a living room with some chairs, a television, and a fireplace. There is also a large informal "play room" with a pool table and a ping pong table. This level also has two bedrooms, each with two 100 cm wide twin-beds. They share a bathroom with a sink, toilet, and tub with handheld shower-head.

First Floor: At the top of a stone staircase you will find a second living area, which has a number of chairs, a television, and a fireplace. A doorway leads out onto a large panoramic terrace. This room also has a dining table for four, and an open-plan kitchenette equipped with a cook top, microwave, and coffee machine. On this level there are three bedrooms, all with two 100 cm wide twin-beds. They share one bathroom with a sink, toilet, and tub with handheld shower-head.
