On the northern edge of Crete, this Greek villa near Adele offers a taste of authentic, rural Cretan life with the convenience of a larger city nearby. You’ll love lounging by your own private pool, taking in the scenery, or having lunch on the terrace or balcony. A short drive will offer you the pleasure of exploring the traditional Cretan town of Adele (population under 400) and its clear, sandy beach, while a slightly farther jaunt will take you into Rethymnon.

Location Description

This Greek island villa in Crete is 3 km from the tiny village of Adele, where you’ll find historical churches, traditional coffee shops, and picturesque houses. It is located on the road toward the Monastery of Arkadi. Adele is also a perfect place from which to base your explorations of the island, as it offers easy access to roads leading to several major destinations. You’ll also want to go into Rethymnon to sample Cretan cuisine and to visit the sixteenth century Venetian Fortezza, imposing in itself but also the location of the annual Rethymnon Renaissance Festival. If you’re interested in the history of the island you may also want to step into the Historical and Folk Art Museum for a taste of traditional Cretan ceramics, textiles, artifacts, jewelry, and clothing from across the centuries.

Exterior Description

(250 m2) With large balconies on each storey, this gorgeous new villa on three levels has panoramic views in all directions, from the countryside to the village and the sea. Outside there is a garden area as well as a beautiful circular pool (36 m2) surrounded by stone and patio furniture. A stone retaining wall surrounds the property and there is both a barbecue and a clay oven for outdoor cooking. The local property representative will meet you at a prearranged place and guide you to the villa. At that point (or, if your arrival time is late, the following day), the representative will answer any questions and introduce you to the spectacular island of Crete. A representative will also remain available on a 24-hour help line for any further assistance you might need.

Interior Description

(190 m2)
First Floor: The entrance to the villa is on the first floor (on level with the pool), through a massive wooden door framed in stone. You can take the stairs or a ramp, convenient for wheelchairs. Inside you’ll find yourself in a large living room with two couches, a fireplace, and satellite TV, along with sliding doors that open out onto one of the large verandas. Next to the living room is a kitchen, fully equipped with dishwasher, stove, oven, and microwave. Beyond the kitchen is one bedroom with two 75 cm-wide twin-beds (narrow beds). There is also a bathroom on the first floor, with toilet, sink, and shower that easily accommodates wheelchair users.

Ground Floor: Downstairs you will find one large bedroom with three beds: one 160 cm queen-sized bed and two 75 cm twin-beds that can be joined together upon request. It has a bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower.

Second Floor: The master bedroom is located on the second floor, with a queen-sized bed (160 cm) and an ensuite bathroom featuring a round Jacuzzi tub (three steps up to the tub) as well as sink and toilet. This bedroom also has sliding doors leading out onto the veranda. The next bedroom has a queen-sized bed (160 cm) and an ensuite bathroom, this one with a skylight above the tub, allowing you to bathe under the stars. The final bedroom has two 75 cm-wide twin-beds (narrow beds; however, they can be combined to become a 150 cm-wide bed, upon request) and an ensuite bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower; also with a sliding door leading onto a veranda.
