	Over the centuries it was alternately conquered by the Pisans and Spaniards, and today the local dialect still retains a unique link to the Catalan language. The city is divided into a modern half and a medieval side, but both have narrow, winding streets and many churches and historical buildings. The whole area hosting our Sardinia holiday villas is dotted with beautiful white-sand beaches and picturesque ruins. The majority of our rental villas in the Cagliari area are located in Torre della Stelle, named so because of the clear, starry nights visible here. Because of its southward orientation, summers are longer here and the climate is fantastic, nestled within the protection of the mountains. In town and on the beaches there are plenty of opportunities for activity, from scuba diving in some of the clearest water in the world to tennis, windsurfing, and more.
