- About The Experience
-
What better way to see Rome than from an apartment right in the center? Not only is this Rome rental apartment within easy walking distance of most of Rome's major sights, it is surrounded by delis, cafes, and restaurants. If you tire of eating out, get some fresh vegetables from the market down the street at Campo dei Fiori and prepare your own Italian feast!
- Location Description
-
This apartment is located on the Via Dei Gubbonari, about two minutes' walk away from the Piazza Campo dei Fiori in the historic center of Rome. This area lies between the Tiber and the Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. It contains some of the most important historic buildings in Rome, including the Acrea Sacra del Largo Argentina, Chancery Palace, the Palazzo Farnese, the Capella del Monte di Pieta, and the Pantheon. The apartment itself is a fifteen-minute walk from the nearest underground station, Spagna. Nearby you will also find stops for the ATAC bus lines 40, 46, 62, 64, 70, 190, 571, and 916, as well as the electric bus lines 116 and 116T, and tram line 8. You can reach Termini train station by taking bus 70 from Largo Argentina; it takes about 10 minutes.
Nearby Attractions: Operating since 1869, the market of Campo dei Fiori is alive with colorful flower vendors and beautiful locally grown produce. Interestingly, the streets of this area are named after the artisans who traditionally occupied them such as Via dei Cappellari (hatters), Via dei Baullari (trunk makers) and Via dei Chiavari (key makers). For some of the best foccacia bread in the city, stop in at Forno Campo de’ Fiori for a warm slice. The Rigatoni all’Amatriciana at the famous La Carbonara Restaurant is a dish worth writing home about.

Questions and Answers From Our Clients
(Click the question to view the answer)
Q: Did you feel a need for a car? Wife's 40th bday, would you recommend the apt. for a romantic getaway we will be arriving from tuscany.
A: No car is needed. This is a wonderful area for walking to everything. We rented 3 apts. within 2 blocks of Piazza Campo dei Fiore & loved them all. However, by far the most romantic and attractive was the Claudius, which is very close to the other two. It is listed as being in Travestere, but definitely in center of historic Rome. Best vacation ever.
A: You would definitely NOT want to have a car -- you can walk almost anywhere you want from the apartment. Cabs are inexpensive, and the train station is quite close. A car would just be a pain in the neck.
The apartment would be very nice for a romatic getaway.

Overall:
Our experience was positive. We enjoyed having an apartment versus a hotel because it enabled us to sit all together in the privacy of our living room and also to have a kitchen.
Enjoyed Most:
The location was the best! Charming street, no car access and right down the street from Campo dei Fiori. A great market.
Enjoyed Least:
We found the bedding to be thin and stained. The bath towels were rough and scratchy. Quality, comfortable bedding and new, fluffy, soft towels would have enhanced our stay.
Surrounding Area:
The area was more upscale than other parts of Rome. There were coffee shops and resturants right out of our door along with the market down the street.
Directions:
We took a taxi, no problems.
