A: No car is needed. This is a wonderful area for walking to everything. We rented 3 apts. within 2 blocks of Piazza Campo dei Fiore & loved them all. However, by far the most romantic and attractive was the Claudius, which is very close to the other two. It is listed as being in Travestere, but definitely in center of historic Rome. Best vacation ever.
A: You would definitely NOT want to have a car -- you can walk almost anywhere you want from the apartment. Cabs are inexpensive, and the train station is quite close. A car would just be a pain in the neck. The apartment would be very nice for a romatic getaway.
