Overall:
Gorgeous property with skilled, friendly, accommodating staff.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and the staff.
Enjoyed Least:
Not for anyone with mobility issues or tendency to motion sickness. Property is accessed via steep walk and only very winding roads in and out of the city. Difficulty in accessing the city/villa is what makes the landscape so dramatically beautiful.
Surrounding Area:
The hiking trails and amazing views.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Nocelle is within walking distance, for able hikers. Worth the climb and descent. The beach below the villa offers good shopping and great restaurants for lunch, as well as water sport and boating options.
Tips or Restaurants:
The pool at the villa is much more relaxing than sunning and swimming on the beach below. Casual clothing with comfortable walking shoes are advisable, as are hats for the hot and sunny summer months.
Directions:
Villa Lara does not appear on GPS listings.
Check In Out:
It was easy. Any questions before travel were readily answered via email with the property manager.

Overall:
The whole week was amazing. All 15 of us loved every minute of it.
Enjoyed Most:
The villa itself with its stylish decor, wonderful staff, beautiful pool, and amazing views of Positano and the sea.
Enjoyed Least:
So many steps to get up to it, but worth it. We'd often go for a swim in the pool upon returning to the villa in the afternoons.
Surrounding Area:
Perfect for everyone in the group. Day trips to Amalfi, Ravello, Pompeii. Guided Path of the Gods hike. Lunch and shopping in Positano. Chartered boat to Capri for day including two stops for swimming.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano walk down steps.
Tips or Restaurants:
Hiking boots if you plan to hike.
Bathing suits for pool and sea.
Hat and sunscreen.
Villa has anything else you'd need.
Directions:
You can see the villa from the ferry dock in the harbor, but exact directions on which staircases to take would be helpful. First time up we followed the road which takes longer and is too close to buses. (After yellow awning take stairs across street. At mini market take another set of stairs up).
Those arriving by car/driver have it easier. Drivers dropped them off at last set of stairs.
Check In Out:
Easy. Need cash for security deposit and copies of passports. Security deposit is then used to buy groceries. We only had to pay an additional 310 euros for food/wine.
