Customer Reviews
Overall:
We loved this house. We thought it was the best vacation home we had ever rented. It had plenty of both indoor and outdoor space, so we could spread out and relax. The kitchen was very well appointed and had everything we needed. There were many outdoor eating areas, and we enjoyed the variety. We felt secure being behind double gates and had completely private, too. We were there with our adult children, and it was nice having a private suite off the main house where we could enjoy some privacy.
Enjoyed Most:
The cabana area beside the pool.
Enjoyed Least:
The orientation of the house such that the outdoor areas are ablaze with sun in the afternoon. We only used these areas in the mornings and evenings because of this. Also, we found the beds a bit firm.
Surrounding Area:
Very good grocery store in Chateaurenard, with everything we needed. Also a nice bakery.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Chateaurenard--no, it is too far to walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
This house has everything you need, even pool towels.
We didn't go to restaurants nearby; only when we were out on day trips.
Directions:
We got to the property by GPS, but we couldn't identify it as there were no numbers on the gate. Someone out on the street told us that was the place.
Check In Out:
Our voucher indicated that we should call Yvonne prior to arrival, but
we couldn't get through to her. Not sure if our phones weren't working or if she didn't answer. Sylvie, the sister of the owner, happened to come by and let us in. Editor's Note: The property manager confirms that the information on the voucher is correct. Please call Yvonne at the number indicated prior to arrival. October, 2015.

Overall:
The property was very spacious and well equipped. Everything we needed was there. Outdoor space was wonderful.
Enjoyed Most:
The outdoor space - the pool, the deck, the lawn and the beautiful lavender - there was something for everyone in our party of 11.
Enjoyed Least:
The location was a bit odd. While the surroundings did contain small vineyards there were also some industrial looking properties nearby which did not make a good impression on initial approach.
Surrounding Area:
The cities and towns nearby were wonderful - especially St. Remy.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest small towns were Chateaurenard and Nove - you could not walk to town easily as the most direct road was either under construction or had some industrial feel to it so it was not pleasant.
Directions:
Yes we used GPS and it was critical for finding the property.
Check In Out:
The property manager was very nice and responsive; we had one electrical issue and she arrived very quickly and fixed the problem. The only issue is language in that it is really helpful to have some French language skills to fully understand each other and explain any issues which arise during your stay.

Overall:
The house was well-equipped, new, roomy, quiet, and had a great kitchen with a huge pool.
Enjoyed Most:
The owners were very accommodating, and brought cases of fruit three times during our stay.
Enjoyed Least:
Really needed a car to get around. The house came with 5 bikes, so could ride around the vineyards and orchards, but really not within walking distance to any dining locations. Also the drain in the master shower was very slow.
Surrounding Area:
Security, peace and quiet. We rode bikes through the vineyards and orchards every evening without concern for traffic or hoodlums.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Chateurenard. We walked to the supermarket the first day, but was about two miles and not practical for any volume of purchase.
Tips or Restaurants:
St Remy is close for restaurants. The house is nicely situated for trips to Arles, Nime, Le Beaux, Pont du Gard, and of course Avignon.
Directions:
Directions provided were easy to follow, especially with the map. Due to a 12-hour flight delay, we ended up arriving at the Avignon TGV at midnight. The owners were very accommodating and sent their daughter to meet us at the house at 1:00 am, so we were not stranded in the middle of the night.
