Overall:
I liked our apartment a lot. Plenty of space, lots of natural light, well-equipped kitchen. The location was great.
Enjoyed Most:
We had lots of room to spread out.
Enjoyed Least:
It was drafty, but with the high ceilings. I don't know how you'd avoid that.
Surrounding Area:
We were close to the Arno and great restaurants. The Santa Croce church was right outside our door.
Tips or Restaurants:
You don't need to bring anything; everything you need is already there.

Overall:
It was much better than expected! The bedrooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms were completely modernized. Also, the building manager was always ready to help with any problems that arose.
Enjoyed Most:
The assistance from the building managers.
Enjoyed Least:
There was no real view from the property. It looked out into private gardens and terraces.
Surrounding Area:
Piazza Santa Croce is close to all of the major tourist attractions - about a 10 minute walk - and the train station about a 15-20 minute walk. The location was not loud or obnoxious. The bulk of the tourists are gone by 5pm.
Tips or Restaurants:
The property supplies the basic necessities. But bring extra plastic bags for groceries since they now charge for them. Definitely bring a water bottle because water in Florence is not cheap. Also, there is an English bookstore--the Paperback Exchange--selling used books meaning you can get one for 5 euros instead of 11 on the Via dell'Oche where you can also trade in your own paperback books for store credit. Our favorite restaurant was actually right next door-- Boccadama. It's good Italian food despite the tourists that linger.

The air conditining was not great, there were only two portable units, one in master bedroom and one in the living room.
Surrounding Area:
It's well-located in the center of town near lots of good restaurants.

Bocca Dama and Cafe Cibro were both great.

Enjoyed Most:
Location, location, location. Clean, quiet, pleasant management, helpful notebook with local info - services - restaurants. Did not need AC, but it was only in the master bedroom.

We would have to struggle to find a major complaint
Surrounding Area:
Walking distance to all major sites Oltrano - it is just enough outside the heart of the tourist area to have a neighborhood feel.

Wine bar on the street great for a night cap ----Bocadrama
Directions:
A picture of the outside of the building would be helpful.
The map from Rent Villa's was superb and the "Notes for the Traveler" was also helpful.
