Questions and Answers From Our Clients

Q: Is getting around fairly easy or would I need to rent a car? I plan on staying in Paris mostly but would love to get out to Chateau and wine country
A: I stayed at Rue de Verneil in April 2002. It is walking distance to a metro stop, perhaps 5 minutes away. To get out of Paris, you would need to go from there to one of the train stations, which would also be easy. However, on a previous trip to Paris, my sister and I wanted to go to the Champagne region of Rheims. While we had no problem getting to the general vicinity on the train from Paris, once we got there it was clear that we couldn't get to more than one winery, Tattinger, without a car. So, it depends on what it is that you want to do. If there is a train stop in the town that you wish to see, and you will just be walking around the town, then you are ok without a car. But if you want to see more of the countryside and easily move from town to town, then you will likely prefer having a car. However, you may want to consider taking the train to an outlying area of Paris and then renting the car, unless you are very comfortable driving in European cities. Hope that helps, and we really liked the apartment that you are considering. It's nicely furnished, quiet, good location as well. I did have to clean some sediment out of the master bathroom showerhead in order to maximize the water pressure, but I expect that kind of thing when I rent an apartment.

A: Getting around is very easy and it would not be necessary or advisable to rent a car. The metro stop is very close and trains are available to all the major attractions. If you wanted to go to small villages in the wine country, you might consider renting for a day or however long you would want to stay there.
The Rue de Verneiuil is wonderful. We wish you a very pleasant trip!!

Customer Reviews
Overall:
We had plenty of space to spread out and relax after a busy day of touring the city.
Enjoyed Most:
The location of the property was absolutely perfect...just a few minutes to walk to the Louvre, Tuileries garden, the Seine and great cafes, among other things.
Enjoyed Least:
Not really anything.
Surrounding Area:
I loved access to many of the great sites and enjoyed exploring the neighborhood.
Tips or Restaurants:
Don't need to bring anything - there were countless cafes in every direction that you would go in, including just a couple of steps from the apartment door.
Directions:
None - very easy
Check In Out:
Not really - easy to connect with Anabella who was very friendly and showed us around.

Overall:
We enjoyed staying at Rue de Verneuil and would stay there again.
Enjoyed Most:
Tranquility in a fabulous part of Paris. Just living in a very old Parisian building - very evocative!!
Good music and reading material provided, including various tourist info.
Enjoyed Least:
The second bedroom was very ordinary although it had the advantage of an en suite bathroom. The kitchen was quite small but had everything we needed.
Surrounding Area:
Loved being opposite a gourmet ' deli' and boulangerie. Also close to shopping in Rue de Bac and so many cafes and restaurants.
Of course, we loved the proximity to many of the sights of Paris.
Tips or Restaurants:
There were lots of restaurants to choose from. My advice would be to eat no earlier than 7.30-8pm and follow the locals!!
Directions:
We did not have any trouble finding the property, however, we waited for some time outside for the agent not knowing that she was the resident caretaker and was inside the building.
