Questions and Answers From Our Clients
(Click the question to view the answer)
Q: We are thinking of staying in Belsole in July. I wanted to have views of the sea from the bedrooms. Can you get a good view of the ocean from all the main bedrooms? Thanks.
A: It's been awhile now that we've been, but I think really the best way to enjoy Belsole's magnificent seaside view is from the balcony that seems to wrap around the perimeter of the property. There's also the sundeck roof to enjoy the scenery; but I don't remember a fabulous view directly from the bedrooms. It is a wonderful property, however. Modest yet comfortably furnished. Fantastic kitchen to cook out of. Fireplace in the living room with a large dining table. Lovely owners living downstairs should you need anything, but completely unobtrusive. We would stay there again - just make sure to rent a car to be able to travel up and down the windy coast and get into town for shopping and dining. Enjoy yourselves! Ciao - Angela

Customer Reviews

Overall the house was lovely, with fantastic views over to the 'sirens', but the many steps and distance into town were difficult, especially with children.
Enjoyed Most:
Its cleanliness, and the owners were incredibly friendly.
Enjoyed Least:
Distance from Positano.
Surrounding Area:
Good food.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you are traveling in high season, be prepared to spend money on taxis to get around.
Directions:
We used a limousine service.

Overall:
Delightful!
Enjoyed Most:
Every room opened onto the large balcony with a view of the sea. The villa was very well-equipped for all of our needs. The owner lives below, and despite the fact that she spoke little English and we spoke little Itlian, we communicated frequently. She was absolutely charming. We were presented on different occasions with gifts of prosciutto stuffed figs she had prepared, homemade limoncello, and a parting gift of a very pretty magnet. She even assisted us in attempts to locate our luggage which the airline lost for several days. The villa itself was beautiful, and our hostess was truly exceptional.
Enjoyed Least:
There was more road noise than would have been ideal. We found it difficult to catch a bus at this location as they were always full. However, we did find several restaurants that would send a car for us and deliver us home again after dinner at no charge. It was a long walk down into town, but the exercise certainly didn't hurt us.
Surrounding Area:
The villa was well-located for getting to the major points of interest.
Tips or Restaurants:
Be in good shape physically. There are 91 ( we counted) steps down to the villa. They are mostly shaded, and nicely terraced, but still 91 steps. Dona Rosa's was a fabulous restaurant, and one that will send a car for you. Everything you will need is provided, including a thoughtful selection of foods to get you started, and even laundry detergent and very careful instructions for using the machine. Maria, our thoughtful owner/hostess, left nothing to chance.
Directions:
We hired a driver to deliver us from the Naples airport. We gave him the address and had no problems.
Check In Out:
Our contact was very well prepared with all of the information we needed and patiently answered all of our questions.

Enjoyed Most:
The home itself was very nice. Also, the owner was very nice. He would call and order food and we would have it within a half hour. If we asked for anything, it definitely got done right away.
Enjoyed Least:
The location. This is the first home you come to when coming around the curve to Positano. There is a very long and dangerous walk to get to the 911 steps that go down to the center of Positano and the beach. People need to know that the location of this property is not convenient to the actual town where the restaurants and shopping are located. and the taxis are not inexpensive.
Surrounding Area:
Positano is a beautiful place and the people are extremely nice. The view are amazing and the food is great in the restaurants.
Tips or Restaurants:
Chez Black on the beach. The owners are great and the food is great. They also own the local nightclub which is right in town.
Directions:
A car took us there. No one should drive in Positano. Use taxis or public transportation.
