Rest your head in this historic apartment located in a refined home originally built by members of the Medici family. Housed in the 16th century Medici Palazzo, this lovely studio apartment is a few minutes’ walk from the San Lorenzo Market, the Duomo and many other spectacular city sights.

Location Description

The apartment is located in the center of Florence, within walking distance to all the city’s sights. Right outside the building’s doorstep there are restaurants and cafes, and a main shopping street is only 300 meters away. The building is next to Piazza San Marco and Accademia Museum (home to Michelangelo’s “David”). Walk to lively San Lorenzo Market (a 4-minute walk), the beautiful Duomo (an 8-minute walk), or the famous Ponte Vecchio. A large park is located 3 minutes walking from the building, perfect for jogging in historical Florence. As the apartment is located in Florence’s historical center, there is limited traffic access for residents only on the narrow one-way street outside the building. Parking is available half a block from the apartment for 45 Euros per day, however, it is not advisable to have a car. Bike and scooter rentals are also half a block from the apartment.

Nearby Attractions: The area around the Basilica di Santa Maria dei Fiore, commonly referred to as the “Duomo,” is considered the historic center of the city. From here it is possible to walk north to the San Lorenzo Church, the San Lorenzo outdoor market (where you can find all manner of clothing, shoes and bags,) as well as the not-to-be-missed Mercado Centrale, with its mouthwatering displays of food items. West and north is the train station and the Santa Maris Novella Church. While in this area, it is worthwhile to visit the Officina di Santa Maria Novella … the potpourri perfume will guide you. To the south are the Piazza della Signoria, the political center of Renaissance, the Uffizi Gallery, the Orsanmichele Church, the Casa di Dante, the Badia Fiorentina, and the Ponte Vecchio. Along the way are shops galore. One very interesting place is visit that is southwest of the Duomo is the Palazzo Davanzati, a beautiful home with period furnishings, originally built in the 14th century. After years of renovation, it is finally open.

Exterior Description

The apartment is on the ground floor the historic, well-maintained Medici Palazzo building, which has several other apartments and an elevator. The building has a security door at the entrance. There is a courtyard with gardens that is shared between the apartments.

Interior Description

Ground Floor: The apartment is divided into three levels.

Main Level: The entrance opens onto the living room, which features a sofa with a convertible bed (160 cm queen-size), two armchairs and flat-screen TV. There is a full bathroom with a bathtub, handheld shower, sink, toilet, bidet and hairdryer. There is also a walk-in closet and a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer.

Loft Level: A staircase leads to the loft, which overlooks the living room and has a railing. There is a queen-size bed (160 cm), three armchairs, flat-screen TV, Blu-ray player with movies and an iPod/iPhone doc with a Harman-Kardon stereo.

Lower Level: The kitchen is equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, Nespresso Lattissima coffee machine and dishwasher. There is a guest bathroom with a sink, toilet and bidet.

• Parking is available half a block from the apartment for a fee. However, a car is not recommended.
