Location Description

The largest of the US Virgin Islands, St. Croix is home to beautiful white sand beaches and some of the most unique diving and snorkeling experiences of all its neighboring islands. There are endless activities to fill your days from hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, sailing, water sports, fishing, turtle watching, golf, and tennis. The island hosts several year-round festivals including the famous Mango Melee in July, the weeklong St. Croix Food and Wine Experience in April, and several music festivals. There are two towns on the island; lively Christiansted and low-key Frederiksted. Christiansted—known for its historic yellow buildings and Danish architecture—is more active day and night with a bustling boardwalk and marina, shops, several fine restaurants, historic churches, boutiques, galleries, and cafes. Frederiksted is decidedly more quite and relaxed with a beautiful waterfront, charming Victorian buildings, and a small white sand beach Butler Bay.

You can reach the island by plane via the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport—which also services flights between St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, and other Caribbean Islands. Ferries at Christiansted run to Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas—with connections to St. John and other British Virgin Islands.

Nearby Attractions: Take a tour of Buck Island—one of only three underwater US national monuments. The white sandy beach is surrounded by a coral reef, teeming with underwater life and several underwater trails for snorkeling. Six National Park Service contracted concessionaires offer trips the Island. Cane Bay Beach has a good stretch of sand, moderate waves, and is great for diving and snorkeling. There is a full service dive shop nearby and several restaurants. Visit the Cruzan Rum Distillery for a tour of the old rum factory—the only historic distillery still producing rum on the island; $5. St. George’s Botanical Gardens situated among the ruins of a sugar plantation the gardens consist of 16 acres containing over 1000 species of local plants and trees. There is also the quaint Divi Casino at Carina Bay featuring primarily slot machines and electronic games with a few card tables.

Exterior Description

(3,220ft2/299m2) The villa is gated and situated on a secluded estate for ultimate privacy. Its waterfront position allows for spectacular views. There is a heated infinity-edged pool (10ft x 30ft) with waterfall and lights for evening swims, and an in ground hot tub on the northeast side of the property. There are sun decks, outdoor lounge areas, a grass and flagstone area with seating, sea views, a barbecue, and alfresco dining area. To one side of the pool deck—near the waterfall—is an air-conditioned gym. Steps down form the pool area lead to the shoreline—there is great snorkeling right off the villa! From here you can also walk on a grassy path to Chenay Bay Beach or Pull Point, both white sand beaches are few minutes away.

Interior Description

Ground Floor: The entrance to the villa leads to the air-conditioned living area with brightly colored rattan sofas, TV, beautiful wood furnishings, original artwork, custom bookcases, and a desk with computer. Ocean-facing French doors open up on the sun deck and swimming pool. There is also a guest bathroom nearby. The spacious gourmet kitchen and dining area come equipped with a breakfast bar, dishwasher, espresso/cappuccino maker, martini maker, stove, oven, and large shuttered windows so you can cook while admiring the view. The dining areal has large French doors that open to a patio and lounge area giving an alfresco feel to the indoors!

First Floor: A limestone staircase leads to the upper level of this villa and its two suites. A wide covered balcony connects the suites and is furnished with benches and lounge chairs. The first Suite has screened windows handcrafted from exotic andiroba wood, a queen-sized bed, and an en-suite bathroom with twin sinks, and a shower. The second suite has a queen-sized bed, arched windows, and an en-suite bathroom with shower.
