Old world charm and sophisticated interior design describes this historic 17th century villa located only four kilometers from Radda in Chianti. The villa has 6 double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a private pool and tennis court, wine cellar and Wifi. Once owned by a noble Florentine family, the villa’s hilltop setting offers views of vineyards and rolling hills characteristic of the Chianti Classico. Tranquil yet centrally located it is a perfect retreat for couples, family reunions and weddings.

Location Description

This villa is located four kilometer from the medieval village of Radda in Chianti. Centered around the 14th century church of San Niccolo and the Palazzo Pretorio, Radda in Chianti features shops, restaurants, markets, banks, and a post office. The picturesque city of Siena, only 38 km away, is a wonderfully preserved example of the Tuscan Middle Ages; a treasure trove of gothic palaces, churches, and museums. It's also well known for the exiting bi-annual bareback horse races, the Palio, held once in July and August. Day trips include Gaiole in Chianti, Florence and Arezzo.

Exterior Description

Located on an expansive estate, the villa boasts an impressive 2-km cypress lined entrance, a large swimming pool (5m x12m) with a view of the valley below, BBQ, and outdoor dining. A wine cellar with vaulted brick ceilings opens onto the garden and an inner courtyard (available by appointment). Meander the private vineyards on marked trails or visit the estate’s consecrated chapel, dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene, considered an architectural jewel dating to 1584. The villa’s expansive grounds offer plenty of enjoyment for large groups.

Interior Description

Ground Floor: The entrance hall leads to a large living room with comfortable couches, and restored antiques. This room has French doors leading to a garden with sweeping views of the countryside. A large dining room has frescoed walls and wood ceilings, as well as a working fireplace. Across from the dining room is the kitchen. There is also an office accessed from the main hall.

First Floor: There are six bedrooms with queen size bed and en suite bathroom with tub and shower. There is one single bedroom with shower. An elegant living room with couches and comfortable armchairs offers additional indoor living space. There is also a fireplace located in the living room.
