A hallmark of Alacati - ancient wind-mills dot the hillside above the house. These ancient stone built structures, and their modern counterparts, bear testimony to the steady winds that have favored this region for centuries. Indeed, Alacati is a very special place. By day you'll enjoy the myriad of activities: wind-surfing, kiting, the beaches, and the historic surroundings. Then in the evening, when you return home with sun-warmed skin, the town is transformed into a chic, classy experience. Dresses come out, and fancy footwear is donned (despite the cobble streets). You'll sit amongst the ancient homes, in ancient streets, enjoying the distinctive food and flavors, while marveling at the beauty of this unmatched locale. Not to be missed is the spectacular Saturday market!

This charming semi-detached house is located in the quaint town of Alacati, an Aegean town on the west coast of Turkey. Located just steps away from the shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes of the ancient village and only 2 kilometers away from the town's famous wind/kite surf center, this home is tastefully decorated in the colors of the area. Bright colors blend with the sun and cool breezes to create an inviting, relaxing environment. Perfect for two couples (both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms) or a family, there is plenty of space to spread out. You will particularly enjoy the front terrace, and the well-maintained, enclosed garden (with outdoor shower) which provides privacy, while everything the village offers is right at your doorstep. On Saturdays, a large section of Alacati is transformed into a spectacular covered market where you can buy local vegetables, cheeses, bread, olives, as well as linens, and souvenirs. It's an experience not to be missed!
Izmir Airport: 1 hours drive on a new, wide, scenic motorway.
Ephesus: 1.5 hour drive
Izmir: 1 hour drive
Cesme: 10 minutes drive
Best beaches: 7 minutes by car
Grocery store: 1 minute walk

Situated in the shadow of a stone wind-mill, a well tended garden, including lawn area, provides ample room for enjoying the property. Sun beds and cushions, outdoor shower, Weber barbecue and the fully equipped terrace are perfect for lounging, relaxing, or entertaining.

Ground floor:
The living room is open plan with a large 3-seat sofa and 4 wicker chairs. The well equipped open plan kitchen has a stove, full size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and toaster. Also on this floor is a guest bathroom.
Terrace: This is where you’ll find yourself spending most of your time. There is a large dining table and separate lounge area with seating for 6.
First floor: The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and a view of the rooftops and hills. There is an ensuite bathroom with toilet, shower and hair dryer, and a small terrace. The second bedroom has twin-beds (can be joined together to form a king-size bed upon prior request), an ensuite bathroom with toilet, shower and washing machine, and views of the rooftops and hills.

- Upon arrival at the property you are required to pay to the property representative a security deposit payable in cash. The security deposit will be returned to you prior to your departure minus accidental damages to the property. The listed security deposit is: 800 Turkish Lira (TRY)

Overall:
Loved Turkey, its people,and Alaçati was beautiful. Excellent location to explore the Cesme Peninsula, Izmir, and beyond.
Enjoyed Most:
Modern, clean, comfortable, nicely decorated. And well located. Three grocery stores, restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops, all within 5 minutes (walking distance ) .
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing negative to say about it. Only one minor, very minor inconvenience was the occasional delivery truck or tractors passing by were a bit noisy, but really not a problem at all. And the beach is 4 km from the house, so a car is recommended.
Surrounding Area:
The village is really beautiful and fun to explore.

Overall:
Very pleasant - relaxing. Managers who greeted us were really nice .
Enjoyed Most:
Spacious bedrooms. Well appointed living-kitchen area and outdoor area.

There was nothing we disliked.
Surrounding Area:
Enjoyed the old town environment. The main pedestrian street of the town was just around the corner from the house.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were around the corner from the old town of Alacati. Very handy.
Tips or Restaurants:
We used this as a base to visit Ephesus - this is a day trip. Well worth seeing. Visited Cesme a few times and lucky enough to see an international kite surfing competition. Did a day trip about 4.5hrs - driving around the peninsula, Hasseki, Karaburun, etc. Really enjoyed seeing rural Turkey on this coast.
