Just wait until you see the garden of this beautiful villa in Sicily because it is going to have you oo-ing and ah-ing for quite some time! Located in front of the sea with direct access to both a small private beach and a large public beach, and only two kilometers from the medieval town of Cefalu, this vacation rental is sure to be a delight. Plus, it’s great for families because not only is there a shared swimming pool for the adults, but a children’s pool as well so everyone can enjoy the holidays in Sicily!

There are two beaches nearby, one private and the other public. The villa is located two kilometers from the city of Cefalu and here you can see boats on the beach, happy visitors dining at the wide range of outdoor cafes, and the friendly locals shopping at the markets. Cefalu is an old town and dates back to the Carthaginian era in 396 BC. There are many ancient churches in Cefalu and although each of them contain a unique array of art and architecture, the city's Cathedral, built in 1131, is a must see for any traveler. There are two large towers four stories high outside that symbolize the cathedral as well as the preserved mosaics inside. A bit further down the road will bring you to Palermo (best to go by train!), the capital of Sicily. This is an amazing city full of countless sights and wonders-- too many to name here. You'll have to go there and find out for yourself!

(1,000 m2) Surrounded by other private residences, this villa features a gorgeous tropical garden with palms, pines, olive, and jasmine trees. There are also spice plants. From the villa you can access a small private beach by walking about 100 meters and down some steps. A large public beach is only 250 meters away by foot. There is a patio with a sink, barbecue, and outdoor shower as well as a small dressing room. The villa has access to two swimming pools. The first is a shared swimming pool (20 m x 14) and the second is also a shared swimming pool for children (7 m x 5 m). There are two private parking spots for this villa but additional parking is available within the grounds should you need it.

Ground Floor: There is a living room with a fireplace, couch, satellite TV, DVD player, and stereo as well as a dining area with a table and chairs. The kitchen is equipped with a cook-top and oven. There is also guest bathroom with a toilet.
First Floor: There is one bedroom with a 160 cm queen-sized bed and an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and tub with a handheld shower.
Lower Level: There are four bedrooms on this floor. The first and second bedrooms each have a 160 cm queen-sized bed. The third and fourth bedrooms each have a 120 cm single bed. There are also two bathrooms on this floor. The first bathroom has a sink, toilet, and shower and the second bathroom has a sink, toilet, and tub with a handheld shower. There is a laundry room with a washing machine, iron, and toilet.

Enjoyed Most:
The seaside location.
Enjoyed Least:
The shared swimming pools are located some distance from the villa and are open from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. There was seaweed in the water at the nearby beach.

Cefalu is nearby but is not within walking distance.
Directions:
The owner is very nice and he waited for us and guided us to the property.

Overall:
Our holiday was great. It's a big villa with a lot of room and very clean. The beach was great.
Enjoyed Most:
It was clean and big.
Enjoyed Least:
There were not enough sun loungers, but the key holder said he was getting more.

The beach is right there.

It was Cefalu'--lovely, but not within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
You need to rent a car. The villa has everything you need, even beach towels.
Directions:
The taxi driver had difficulty finding the address.

Overall:
A great base for exploring Sicily, well located near the charming town of Cefalu. Most striking feature of this villa is the total peace and quiet of the surroundings, affording a very relaxing stay. Easy access to the autostrade.
Enjoyed Most:
Spacious and quiet. Proximity to Cefalu is 2 km, a charming little town, where all services are available. Far enough yet close enough to Palermo - about 70 km. Breakfast and dinner on the patio.
Enjoyed Least:
The villa itself could use some TLC doors, window frames and shutters are in need of a paint job. Absence of a dishwasher. The private beach is has dried seaweed and the sea bottom off the beach is all large rocks and boulders, and you need foot protection to venture in the water. The property being seaside, it was somewhat disappointing to have the sea view almost totally obstructed by overgrown trees on the property - a little pruning is in order. Editor's Notes: The owner has confirmed that he will paint the windows and doors at the end of the summer. He plans to cut the trees right away to clear the view.
Surrounding Area:
Peace and quiet. Cefalu was an interesting town to visit, with an excellent sand beach where we went for 3 days. Also a good base to take day trips from here: Mt. Etna, Catania, Palermo. Driving back from Etna, we went thru the back roads thru the village of Randazzo and then route SS-116 between Randazzo and Capo d'Orlando, which is a cliffside twisting road not for the faint of heart!

Cefalu is 2 km away. I wouldn't walk there given the heat...
Tips or Restaurants:
Restaurant La Brace in Cefalu was a great find - fabulous Sicilian food at a very affordable price.
