The villa is located about two kilometers from the village of Falciani where there are two restaurants, food stores, and shops. One of the best things about this villa is that it is a short distance from Florence, a city rich in architectural and artistic masterpieces. Visit the Piazza San Giovanni, also known as the religious heart of the city, and you’ll see the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, built in the 15th century. Other marvelous attractions include the Ponte Vecchio where you can go shopping, the Accademia Gallery full of Florentine paintings, and of course the Uffizi Gallery. In addition to Florence, San Gimignano and Siena are also within day trip distance.

Set in a panoramic position in the Tuscan countryside, this villa is surrounded by trees, plants, and flowers. There is an outdoor terrace furnished with a barbecue, table, chairs, and umbrella as well as a Jacuzzi. A staircase leads down to a private swimming pool (6m x 12m) that is surrounded by sun loungers and umbrellas. The pool is open from the beginning of April to the end of October. Access to the property is via an unpaved but well maintained road and parking is available within the grounds.

Ground Floor: There is a living room with two sofa beds (each most suitable for one), satellite TV, and a DVD player. The kitchen is equipped with a cook-top, oven, microwave, toaster, American coffee maker, and dishwasher and has a dining area with a table and chairs.
First Floor: A staircase leads up to four bedrooms. The first bedroom has a queen-sized bed (160 cm) and an en suite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed (160 cm). The third and fourth bedrooms each have two single beds (90 cm). There is a second bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower.
Second Floor: A staircase leads up to one bathroom with a sink, toilet, and Jacuzzi tub.

Overall:
The property is beautiful! The view is amazing and you wake up every morning to a symphony of birds and frogs. The villa itself is rustic but nice and very comfortable for our family of 8.
Enjoyed Most:
The outside area was amazing, the pool and hot tub were great. The 4 bedrooms worked well for our family and the 3 bathrooms came in handy.
Enjoyed Least:
It was isolated.
Surrounding Area:
The Tuscan hills were beautiful and we traveled to Siena, Greve, Florence and some other small Tuscan towns. The bus to Florence was convenient.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Falciani and it was not with in walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
There was a restaurant close by in the area that Machiavelli resided in that was great and in a beautiful location. We brought extra toilet paper which was recommended and it did come in handy. The kitchen is well equipped, even a good selection of spices! There were blow dryers in the bathrooms too!
Check In Out:
Marco was great and it was very convenient. The only thing was having enough Euros available to pay in cash; we had to call Marco for a total the day before so we were prepared.

Overall:
It was a great place to hang around. Beautiful place. Marco, the owner, is very friendly and accommodating. He made delicious pizza in the outdoor wood burning oven for us for one night! He made so much (for EUR 20 per person) that we had leftover pizza for dinner the following night.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool, the kitchen and the courtyard as these are the places we hung around most.
Enjoyed Least:
We didn't have a car, so the walk (on dirt road) from the villa to the main road is about 2 kilometers and about 500 meters to the bus stop to Florence. But that being said, the view from the villa is very beautiful and quiet.
Surrounding Area:
Serene surroundings. Marco did a wine tour for us and brought us to great wineries in the Chianti area.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Nearest town is Falciani, which is about 15 -20 minutes walk to the main road and turning right.
Tips or Restaurants:
Toilet paper was provided but I don't know if that was left behind from previous renters. Bring shampoo/conditioner/soap for the bathroom. Bring adapters for Italian electrical outlets for your laptops and chargers.
Directions:
No GPS used as we hired transportation to the villa.
Check In Out:
Check in/check out is simple and there were no surprises.

Overall:
We enjoyed the entire experience, and Marco (property manager) was very pleasant and helpful.
Enjoyed Most:
In addition to being in a lovely setting, the location enabled traveling to several other Tuscan towns. Plus, the bus to Florence was extremely convenient.
Enjoyed Least:
There was not anything we didn't like, but the property does get a lot of direct sun and perhaps additional or larger umbrellas would be nice.
Surrounding Area:
The location makes it possible to easily take day trips and then return to a very peaceful villa.
Nearby Events or Locales:
A car is definitely necessary, but that was not a problem for us.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring soap and toilet paper. Restaurants nearby: Scolpeti and Tattoria di' Sor Paolo.
Directions:
We followed printed instructions and called Marco when we got close by.
Check In Out:
You should be aware that you are charged for electricity.
