A short drive will offer you the pleasure of exploring the traditional Cretan town of Rodakino and its small, isolated beaches, all untouched by modern tourism.

Location Description

This Greek island villa rental in Crete is about 2.5 km away from the traditional village of Rodakino, where you’ll find a couple of nice taverns and a supermarket, along with a populace of genuine Cretans. This area is surrounded by small beaches, mostly accessible only by foot. Not much further is Korakas, a 20 km stretch of sandy beach. Other interesting destinations in the surrounding area are Fragokastello castle, Preveli monastery, Preveli Palm Beach, Kotsifou and Kourtalioti gorges, Chora Sfakion, and Krioneritis Mountain.
You’ll also want to take a day trip to Rethymnon to visit the sixteenth century Venetian Fortezza, imposing in itself but also the location of the annual Rethymnon Renaissance Festival. If you’re interested in the history of the island you may also want to step into the Historical and Folk Art Museum for a taste of traditional Cretan ceramics, textiles, artifacts, jewelry, and clothing from across the centuries.

Exterior Description

(2,375 m2) This is a newly constructed villa, built from the ground up in 2005, set on a hillside in a protected natural area. Upstairs bedrooms lead out onto a large balcony with patio furniture and beautiful views, while down on the ground you’ll find the private swimming pool (7m x 5m) surrounded by lounge chairs, sunshades, and a garden shower. Please note that there is a second villa located not far away from this one, sharing the same entrance drive. However all outdoor areas are private (see photos). The local property representative will meet you at a prearranged place and guide you to the villa. At that point (or, if your arrival time is late, the following day), the representative will answer any questions and introduce you to the spectacular island of Crete. A representative will also remain available on a 24-hour help line for any further assistance you might need.

Interior Description

(112 m2)
Ground Floor: Entering on the ground floor, you’ll find yourself in a spacious living/dining room with fireplace, satellite TV, DVD player, and more, along with seating at couches and a dining table for four. An open-plan corner kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, oven, stove, and microwave. Further on to the right, you enter a bedroom with a king-sized (200 cm) bed and access to a large terrace. The adjacent bathroom is equipped with toilet, sink, and tub with handheld shower-head. Next to the bathroom is a storage room with a washing machine and an ironing board.

First Floor: An internal staircase leads to the first floor, where there are two more bedrooms decorated in a modern style. The first bedroom has a king-sized (200 cm) bed, while the second has two twin-beds. They share a bathroom with a toilet, sink, and Jacuzzi tub with handheld shower-head. Each bedroom opens onto the balcony.
