The large Santa Croce square outside this accommodation in Florence is a bustling center for students, locals, shopkeepers and tourists to gather. The Santa Croce church is one of the most important destinations in Florence, and the best gelato shop in the city is located close by! This Florence accommodation is located in a beautiful palazzo right on the pedestrian-only square, which is lined with shops, restaurants and wine bars. You are perfectly located for visiting all that the city has to offer, as well as having a comfortable holiday apartment in Florence in which to rest and unwind – and share your stories of the day.

This Florence rental is located right on the Piazza Santa Croce, a large piazza with the Santa Croce church at one end with many shops, restaurants, and old palazzo on either side. All of the major sites of Renaissance Florence are within a short walk, including the Piazza Signoria, the Uffizi Gallery and the Duomo. The Santa Maria Novella train station is a 15-minute walk, and the closest bus stop is right at the base of the piazza.
Nearby Attractions:The Santa Croce quarter is located on the southeastern part of the historic center of Florence. Since the Middle Ages, it was an area specializing in leather. In fact, today it is still filled with leather shops! The large Santa Croce Church, filled with famous frescoes and tombs of some of the city’s greats, is the main structure of the quarter. The piazza in front of the church is filled day and night with tourists and locals. Some of the best gelato shops and restaurants can be found in this neighborhood. Piazza dei Ciompi has a daily flea market as well as a large monthly market (last Sunday). Plaz, located across from the 16th century Loggia del Pesce is a fun and casual place to stop for a drink and live music.

The palazzo has thirteen apartments, many with views of the Piazza Santa Croce and the interior garden. Although there is no public parking nearby, a paid parking lot is in the neighborhood, just across Piazza Santa Croce. The price varies according to car size: 20/30 euros per day.

Third Floor (with lift):
An entrance corridor leads you into the living area and dining room of this well appointed apartment. The living area features a sofa, comfortable seating and a dining area which seats 4-5. The dining area is situated in front of a working fireplace. This room also features large panoramic windows overlooking the Piazza Santa Croce. The kitchen also has a dining area and is fully equipped with dishwasher, refrigerator, stove and oven. The kitchen overlooks the piazza. There are two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed (160 cm) which can be divided into twin-beds, upon prior request. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom with tub with hand held shower, sink and WC. There is a second double bedroom with two twin-beds, which can be made into a queen size bed upon prior request. The second bathroom is across the hall from these two bedrooms and features a shower, sink and WC. The apartment is independently heated and air conditioned.

Overall:
We had a great time in Florence. The location could not have been better for our family. We walked everywhere and never took a cab in the city while we were there. We had front row seats to all the events for Saint John's Day.
Enjoyed Most:
The location was fabulous. Close to everything we wanted to do and see.
Enjoyed Least:
It is very noisy at night until 2am!
Surrounding Area:
We enjoyed the church, great places to eat and shop. All within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring ear plugs and small suitcases for the elevator.
The restaurant right next to us was great and the staff was so friendly.
Directions:
We took a cab. Easy to get to and centrally located.
Check In Out:
The check in was not very well organized. Check out was fine.

Overall:
The experience was a once in a lifetime one. It was fabulous.
Enjoyed Most:
We loved being on Piazza Santa Croce-Pazzi. It was noisy, but the views, life and activity there were worth it. Our apartment was in the front; perhaps other apartments there were not noisy.
Enjoyed Least:
The only thing was the noise.
Surrounding Area:
Piazza Santa Croce is beautiful with the medieval buildings lining the piazza and the cathedral at the far end...breathtaking
Tips or Restaurants:
Right below Palazzo Antellesi is a fabulous restaurant, Boccadama. Others are Baldovino, La Maremma, Trattoria Robert, Aqua Due, Leo's... all excellent restaurants.
