Finca Ronda, built in 2001, is an estate of 3.5 acres of mature olive trees and beautiful gardens, consisting of three separate villas, two of which are available to rent: Villa Alba and Villa Adora. The property is a ten minute drive from the ancient town of Ronda, one of Andalucia's most interesting cultural and historic centers. The surrounding area, the Serrania de Ronda, encompasses beautiful scenery: lakes, towering mountains, pre-historic gorges, and spectacular vistas. It is an area of many contrasts and rich diversity. Between Finca Ronda-Villa Alba and Finca Ronda-Villa Sol there is a natural green fence, but since the houses are only 60 m apart, each is visable from the other. Finca Ronda-Villa Adora is further away and completely isolated from the other two.

This self-contained Spain villa has its own entrance gate, short drive and double garage. The house has a lovely garden with a swimming pool which is open all year (5m x 10m x 1.4m deep). There is a pool house with a barbecue with a covered patio for al fresco dining, plus a long covered terrace facing the garden.

The Andalucia vacation rental has a very large sitting/dining room with an open fireplace with French doors leading onto the terrace and overlooking the swimming pool. There is a fully-equipped kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, 4-burner cook top, refrigerator and microwave. There are three bedrooms: two of the bedrooms have beds that are 155 cm x 190 cm; the third bedroom is twin-bedded (each bed is 95 cm x 190 cm). Two bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, each with a shower, sink and WC. The third bedroom has a bathroom with a tub and handheld shower head, sink and WC. All rooms have overhead fans for summer, and electric heating and electric blankets and duvets for winter. There is a TV (for DVD only - no cable) and large video library for rent upon request.

Overall:
Excellent, due mostly to the hospitality of Maria and Mike. They couldn't have been more warm and helpful, freely giving their time to answer questions and offer suggestions at any time day or night. Their tapas dinner that was waiting for us when we arrived in the early evening was outstanding!
Enjoyed Most:
Proximity to sites (La Pileta, bodegas, Ronda, Granada, Seville, pueblos blancos, and so on).
Enjoyed Least:
The decor is not "Spanish" or locally oriented. But that is a non-issue in the bigger scheme of things.
Surrounding Area:
The view, and the cities noted above.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Ronda was the nearest, about 5-10 minutes by car. A car is needed for all sightseeing.
Tips or Restaurants:
The house was better-stocked than I'm used to. Plenty of soap, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry and dishwasher soap, etc.

It was gorgeous, very short trips to great cities, very friendly people.

Ronda is a ten-minute drive; it's too far to walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
La Cueva de la Pileta is a very nearby cave with prehistoric art and is a fabulous experience, highly recommended. There's a great supermarket, Mercadona, right as you enter Ronda with its own underground parking and great produce. Eating at the villa is cheap and the best food around.
Directions:
The directions could have been better. We had a GPS, but there was no street address for the property, and it was on roads the GPS did not recognize.
