About The Experience
You are the master of your own 16th century estate in Padova. The left wing of this Palladian mansion is entirely enough room for your needs, and you have a huge property to explore—filled with classic Italian gardens, statues, and a variety of trees. You can while away the days strolling about the estate, swimming in the pool, or take the train into Venice for the day. Eat out, cook your own food, or sit back and relax while a chef prepares your meal right on the estate.
Location Description

The villa is located in the province of Padova near the village of Levada, which has a grocery shop, doctor, church, newspaper stand, and bus service. Castelfranco has the nearest hospital and a good selection of restaurants. The nearest train station is located in Piombino Dese (12 km away), with service to Venice (a 35 minute ride). Nearby daytrip destinations include Venice, Padua, Asolo, Bassano, Cittadella, and Treviso.

Nearby Attractions: Within easy reach of the villa there are horseback riding facilities (1 km), a golf course (15 km), tennis courts (5 km), and a hunting reserve (1 km).

Exterior Description
(7 hectares)
This Palladian villa was built in the second half of the 16th century by the noble Marcello family of Venice. A well-preserved example of Renaissance architecture, the 16th century complex is structured with a central main building flanked by arcaded wings. A large, independent three-story apartment in the left wing is available for rental. It is furnished with antiques, period paintings, and objets d'arts that have been in the family since the 16th century. The apartment was restored in 1990 and partially refurbished in 2003. Most rooms have original parquet floors and ceilings with plaster moldings. The bathrooms are done in hand painted Vietri tiles and have new fixtures. A member of the Marcello family resides in a separate part of the villa and is available to welcome guests and offer assistance during their stay. Outdoor amenities include a classic Italian garden with a fountain, Greek mythical statues, flower beds, and lawns. The park (7 hectares) is fully enclosed and is framed by rows of hornbeams, limes, and oaks. Outbuildings include a dove cote and chapel. There is a large fish pond with running water and woods with century-old trees. Near to the main building there is a small, separate garden with swimming pool (open from May-October) surrounded by oleanders, roses, and hydrangeas. Poolside amenities include a gazebo, wooden table, six chairs, three deck chairs, and a barbecue. There is a dressing room stocked with towels (changed twice weekly) and a small refrigerator. Inside the larger park there is a soccer field. Parking is available near the apartment entrance.

Customer Reviews

Overall:
It was a pleasurable experience. The owner was very helpful and anxious to please.
Enjoyed Most:
The aura of staying in a 15th century villa was very exciting. The owner along with his mother were very pleasant.
Enjoyed Least:
There was always something going on at the villa. One day it was a small parade group that started at the villa, walked to the church, and then returned to the villa for lunch. Another day they were getting ready for a wedding that afternoon so they started cutting the grass around 8:30am.
Surrounding Area:
Once you drove a little way you were able to see some beautiful walled towns. A longer drive took you into the mountains which were spectacular. We thought it was close to Venice it's not that close. The best way to get there is to take a 45 minute train ride.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Levada, which only had a church and great bakery was within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
The owner had many suggestions - a lot in Venice, which we only visited once, one or two local restaurants.
