About The Experience
Get a royal experience at this historic villa, originally a 17th century home for a powerful, aristocratic family. With multiple terraces and balconies, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to keep watch over your kingdom, or just the lovely views, while having an al fresco meal, taking a dip in the private pool, or even taking an invigorating outdoor shower. This villa is well-situated for exploring Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, and it ideal for a large family or two, or a large group of friends.
Location Description

This villa is located on a hill in the small village of Schiazzano, which has two restaurants and a few shops and overlooks the Sorrento Coast. A trattoria serving typical local dishes is within walking distance, and the town of Massa Lubrense is two kilometers away, where you will find more restaurants, shops, markets, and places to buy olive oil. There are also excellent pizzerias, mini-markets, and a discotheque. A short drive away, there’s the lovely seaside town of Sorrento, which is famous for its limoncello (an alcoholic aperitif) and inlaid wood – you can visit one of the workshops still in operation today to see this centuries-old craft in action. Other Sorrento attractions include the 10th century Basilica di San Antonio, which was built to honor the patron saint of navigators and still attracts sailors’ offerings to this day. The 11th century Cathedral houses frescoes and a bell tower with a ceramic clock. The "Sorrento Summer of Music" is also held at the cloisters from July to September, and features international musicians performing alongside of emerging talents. The towns of the Amalfi coast like Positano and the island of Capri make good day trips.

Nearby Attractions: Massa Lubrense (restaurants, pizzerias, markets, discotheque, shops), Sorrento (museum, festivals, art galleries, shops, markets, cinemas, wine bars, bowling alley), Positano, Capri, Naples

Customer Reviews

Overall:
We spent a wonderful week in the Villa! What a view, the people were wonderful that managed the villa as well as in the nearby towns! Would certainly return without question! Living in luxury!
Enjoyed Most:
The layout and location was perfect. LOVED walking into town for coffee, pastries and fresh vegetables daily. The cheese factory was a 5 minute walk from the villa and talk about fabulous mozzarella and great people! We walked to the coast! Took about 2 hours through all types of terrain. SO well worth it!!
Enjoyed Least:
The showers were a bit small but otherwise, it was fine.
Surrounding Area:
Loved the nearby restaraunt and the town of Massa Lubrense. Sorrento was close, and we did a private bus tour of the Amalfi Coast that was supurb!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Massa Lubrense was within walking distance. The first day we followed the road along the mountain. We then found some of the foot paths that "slice through the earth" (their way of saying short cut!) which shaved time off the walk and made the uphill return easier. Truly the way to see the real lifestyle of the area!
Tips or Restaurants:
Rent a boat for a full-day private tour of Capri at the Marina Lobra in Massa Lubrense. Also enjoy some great pizza at the marina at Finiculi Finicula! Yummy!! Francesca's right near the villa has fabulous food and wonderful people. Welcomed us as family!
Directions:
We arranged for private transport from the Naples airport to the property so there were no concerns.
Check In Out:
We were warmly greeted and walked through/oriented to the property. Every effort was made to accommodate any needs and make us feel at home!

Overall:
Villa was perfect for exploring Amalfi Coast. Located in small town that had two restaurants and a small shop, but otherwise away from all the tourists. However, it was a fairly short drive to Amalfi Coast attractions and Sorrento.
Enjoyed Most:
Location.
Enjoyed Least:
Bathrooms very small.
Surrounding Area:
Quiet small town not overrun by tourists. Excellent walking and hiking trails nearby.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Villa is in Schiazzano.
Directions:
NAV on rental car made it a lot easier to get around unfamiliar area with very narrow winding streets.
