Overall:
It was a fabulous experience. From my initial contact with RentVillas to the day we left the Villa the whole experience was excellent. The Villa Andalucia was better than the pictures! The staff was superb! All 14 of us, from the oldest to the youngest have nothing but superlatives about the experience. The wonderful staff, Pilar, the Chef not a cook, Beatriz, and Strosner could not have taken better care of all of us! And of course what else could we expect with Manolo at the helm! Manolo made our stay so incredibly comfortable. A very classy person! He saw to our every need, made us feel very much at home and so welcome! The staff has our most heasrtfelt thanks, their attention to every comfort made our stay so much better than what we expected.
Enjoyed Most:
The Villa itself was amazing - the pictures on the website although very good, don't do it justice. We already loved the Villa from the pictures, but it was far better in real life. We enjoyed every room! The layout was wonderful for all of us - even when one wanted quiet time one could find a comfrotable and lovely place to relax.
Enjoyed Least:
Going up the long rocky path up the hill to the house... It would be nice if the cars could drive up rather than have to climb the hill on foot.
Editor's Note: A new access road has been built and cars can now drive up to the house and park.
Surrounding Area:
Places to eat, walk, etc. The Villa is close to a lot of small towns an neighborhoods.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We drove everywhere but found nice places to shop and have fun within a short ride.
Tips or Restaurants:
The staff can make wonderful suggestions.

Overall:
The villa has a lot of charm. After the air conditioning was finally fixed the experience was very good.
Enjoyed Most:
The location was excellent.
Enjoyed Least:
It would have been much nicer if a cook had been available for the evening meals. The recreation room in the basement of the villa did not have air conditioning.
There was no English language television on any of the TVs in the living room or any of the bedrooms.
Laundry facilities were poor. Editor's Note: If the client wants more staff hours, including the cook, than listed in the description, he can request it at his own expense. There is new AC in every room, including the home cinema and bar room. Sky with CNN, BBC and 60 other English channels are available in the home cinema; English channels are also available now in the living room and 3 bedrooms. There are two new washing machines (they are changed every two years) and one dryer.
Surrounding Area:
Convenient to Southern Spain and day tripping.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Sotogrande was not within walking distance.

Overall:
Our group of 14 adults all loved our time at the villa. We had enough privacy with great common surroundings. The location was out of the way of the high density areas of Costa del Sol, but developed enough to have good restaurants, great golf, and lots of sights of Spain.
Enjoyed Most:
The beautiful views were the best.
Enjoyed Least:
It needs a coat and new and more screens, but otherwise was great. Editor's Note: Because of the salt air, the villa is repainted every 4 years; will be repainted November 2008.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Sotogrande is a planned-developed community, but a little too far to walk. It is a short drive.
Tips or Restaurants:
The restaurants at Sotogrande were good, but the 2 meals we had Jose arrange for us at the villa were the best and most fun.

Enjoyed Most:
Peace and quiet, large public rooms, staff very attentive to our needs.
Enjoyed Least:
Permanent cook not available, misunderstanding about maid service hours, TV did not work. Editor's Note: 4 new TVs have been installed - November 2008
Surrounding Area:
Local golf courses, Gibraltar, Marbella.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you do not enjoy dining at late hours, make sure that the management and staff understand your needs and are able to adjust their hours accordingly.

Enjoyed Most:
The spaciousness and layout of the property helped everyone have privacy when they needed it. Juan, the property manager, could not be more helpful - he is worth the cost of the property! Bathrooms are exceptional and the master bedroom is to die for.
Enjoyed Least:
The furniture and upkeep was adequate. The property was very nice but did not equal the other properties in the community which I believe was due to it being a rental property versus a private home but this is understandable.
Surrounding Area:
I was there off season so the ocean and pool club were not really an option. Golf was exceptional. I believe the horseback riding probably was exceptional from what I was told but we did not go when we were there.
Nearby Events or Locales:
I did walk to the pharmacy but a car was really needed.
Tips or Restaurants:
There was an excellent restaurant in Marbella in a hotel but I can't remember the name. One night we asked Pilar to cook for a birthday dinner for 10 people and it was exceptional! One of the best meals we had in Spain. There was an exceptional supermarket that is English-speaking-friendly two minutes away. Gibraltar and Ronda are a must if you stay at the villa.
Directions:
Everything was perfect until the last turn into the property since the road sign does not face the direction from where you are coming. When we missed the turn, Juan came and got us -excellent guy.
Check In Out:
Juan was there when we got there and helped us immensely

Overall:
Honestly, besides the stunning accomodation, everyone was incredibly helpful and generous. The rooms were meticulously cleaned and the cooking was to die for.
Enjoyed Most:
It was peaceful and everyone was incredibly helpful. Both Juan, the property manager, and Pilar the cook, constantly went out of their way to assist us. Also, every room is equipped with DSL, which was a nice perk to have.
Enjoyed Least:
The pool was a bit chilly when we got there and took a few days to warm up.
Surrounding Area:
It was close to major cities such as Gibralter and Algeciras, and we were able to take day trips to Tangier and Ronda.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Sotogrande was within walking distance
Tips or Restaurants:
Be aware that it is Spain, so restaurants don't typically open for dinner until 8PM and siesta is from 2-6. Pillar's cooking is all you will need to get by in terms of food.
Directions:
Juan was right there to help guide us and made it very easy to get to the villa

Enjoyed Most:
What we liked most about the villa was the space, inside and outside. We had 14 people some of whom did not know each other until we met at the villa. Everyone had enough space to be together and to be alone if they wanted. The pool and grounds were beautiful and were used each day. The house is great and the kitchen has everything you need to eat in or to enjoy the food prepared by Pilar.
Enjoyed Least:
The bedrooms could use screens on the windows to keep out the pesky flies.
Surrounding Area:
We enjoyed the beach, the marina and the restaurants at the marina. The golf courses looked beautiful, but we did not have any golfers in our group.
Nearby Events or Locales:
No town within walking distance. The super market was a close drive and the marina was a close drive.
Tips or Restaurants:
The cook is wonderful. She want out of her way for us, arranging a guide to take everyone to Morocco for a day trip. She gave good information regarding events etc. The day trips to Gibralter, Ronda, Marbella, Jerez are fairly easy to do. Ronda is Great. Recommend highly to anyone staying at the Villa, great views and great restaurants. We went to the Alhambra in Granada but would not recommend, because the trip is just to long back and forth. It took us 3 12 hours each way. It is wonderful, but a long, long trip. I would rather have had the time at the villa. The villa is well stocked, including hair dryers.

Overall:
This is a great house for a family reunion, multiple families or a business retreat. Each house has its own bathroom, making it very private. The living spaces are big as is the garden. Sotogrande is a luxurious gated community -- not traditional, but very attractive compared to other areas on the Costa del Sol. It's easy to do daily trips from the house, but tempting to not leave at all. I highly recommend this rental.
Enjoyed Most:
The house was perfect for a family reunion - enough space for all of us. The pool and yard made it tempting to not even leave the property. Pilar's cooking was fantastic. She prepared 3 meals a day for us and we re-heated our dinner which made it truly a vacation for all of us.
Enjoyed Least:
The housekeeping could use some improvement. Not all of the bathrooms were cleaned when we arrived.
Surrounding Area:
Marbella (old city) and Ronda were real highlights. The Sotogrande marina was also enjoyable.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Sotogrande. A good destination for a run, but a little too far to walk with kids.
Tips or Restaurants:
The house had everything you could need including a few toys for little kids. We had Pilar prepare our dinners during the day so never made it out to any restaurants - her paella was divine!
Check In Out:
There really was no check-out procedure. Not an issue as we hadn't had any problems. Mr. Gonzalez and Pilar were readily available had we had questions.

Overall:
The villa was even better than the pictures and the brochure promised. We had to keep pinching ourselves when we were there to make sure it was real. I want to go back - next time we are taking our bicycles.
Enjoyed Most:
The location and the views from the villa were outstanding - unbelievably beautiful!
Enjoyed Least:
We struggled to answer this because there was really nothing that affected the enjoyment of our stay. If I had to say one negative - it would be the villa could use a maintenance person - the stove worked sporadically, the coffee maker not at all, doors stuck and cupboards were a little decrepit in places.
Surrounding Area:
It was sunny the whole time we were there which made it wonderful for walking. The area was very safe and the people were friendly and helpful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
There was no small town within walking distance - but grocery stores etc. were within a 10 minute drive.
Tips or Restaurants:
The Ke in Sotogrande was a very good restaurant. We travelled around so much while we were at the villa - it was the only local place we visited - but we went twice because the food and service was so good.
The villa was so well equipped I couldn't think of anything we needed or would want to take the next time.

Overall:
The house was beautifual and the kitchen was well equippped. The pool and the grounds were very nice.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool.
Surrounding Area:
Nice but there are no services/ activities within walking distance.

Overall:It is a very lovely house and the grounds are wonderful. The kids liked the pool.
Enjoyed most:The cook!
Surrounding area:
The villa and surroundings were wonderful. We played a lot of golf and the courses were superb. Our teenagers were a little disappointed that there were no little shops nearby, however.
Tips and Restaurants:The tower restaurant in Mijas.

Overall:
This villa is amazing. Nestled back in a gated community, it is quiet and has spectatular views of the coast. The pool has a diving board and is great for swims in the evening. Every bedroom is great, all having their own bathroom, and access door to the outside. Both living rooms are spacious, with an inviting atmosphere. The caretaker and maid are helpful and accomodating.
Enjoyed Most:
The kitchen is extremely large and fully equipped in every sense of the word. Two sets of sinks, counter, table, walk-in frig, big freezer, and even a deep frier! (not that I would use it!) The master bedroom is spacious and equipped with all modern amenities. The curtains open up to expose all the door length windows, which can't be beat at sunrise or sunset. There is a lovely dining table outside that seats up to 8-10, as do most of the tables in the house (the main dining table seating 12).
Enjoyed Least:
None. A rental car is a good idea to have to take day trips.
Surrounding Area:
The beach is a 10 minute walk, and the golfing in the area is considered some of the best in Europe. The Costa de Luz is within driving distance, and the beaches are very picturesque. Also, Marbella, Estepona and Ronda are all easy day trips.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Africa is a boat trip away, but strongly advised against for first time travelers. Gibraltar is only 10-15 minutes away, and you can take a cable car to the top of the rock. There are also dolphin Safari's taking off from the La Linea de la Conception (about 10 minutes away).
Tips or Restaurants:
Excellent local tapas bar in neighboring town of Guadiaro. There is a post office there as well.
