Yes, for a good walker, but keep in mind that the roads do not have shoulders.
Directions:
Rented two vans with GPS. One van was lost daily, while the other van--never! All depends on the driver and copilot.

Not within walking distance, but Sant'Agata is lovely.
Tips or Restaurants:
You must do the gastro tour--ask the keyholders Gianni and Lucio about it and definitely have them come and cook for you! That was the best part of our stay!
Directions:
GPS is quite useless in this area.
