Gayle, April

Overall:
Location near the Duomo made sightseeing easy. Also close to shops and restaurants and museums.
Enjoyed Most:
Close to everything.
Enjoyed Least:
Getting a taxi for the train station when leaving. Taxis were booked because of the festival. We ended up making the 10-minute walk with our luggage. Lorenzo was very helpful in calling for a taxi but with no luck.
Surrounding Area:
My wife loved Florence the most. Many sights to see, museums, restaurants, etc
Nearby Events or Locales:
Didn't travel to far outside beyond the apartment as there was plenty to see in the immediate area.

Overall:
The manager met us at the doorstep with our key. He had provided a snack for us on our arrival. He had also prepared a detailed map for us, including directions to the nearest grocery store. Very thoughtful, indeed.
Enjoyed Most:
Spacious and homey. Just the spot to come to after a day of touring. Air conditioning works very well. The decorations are nice. All in all it was a great value.
Enjoyed Least:
Sharing the washer with the neighbors, but only because we both wanted it at the same time.
Surrounding Area:
Close to everything you could want. The duomo is right down the street, and makes getting home simple.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring your walking shoes and your camera. Florence is a nice place to visit, and this was a fantastic place to stay.
Check In Out:
Could't be easier. He met us with the key, and then we just left on our final day.

Overall:
In a word, delightful! Our host was the essence of warm hospitality and had fruit, vino and cookies for us upon arrival. He showed how to work everything, gave us insider information on area and was gracious to say we could call him any time. We did call once and found him helpful and kind, especially because it was a sabbath.
Enjoyed Most:
Location, location and quaint charm of villa life. So close to everything - minutes from piazza - we attended Mass every morning at 7:30 or 8:30 and walked to the station 4 of our 6 mornings there and back again each evening - and we are pushing 60 years!
Enjoyed Least:
We could hear the neighboring restroom (lavatory and toilet) through the bedroom wall.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We bussed to Siena, San Giminagno and trained to Lucca.
Check In Out:
Our host made is so easy; he was there in a jiffy and would have been there upon arrival if we had only called from the station as we were supposed to.

Nothing, thought it was great!
Surrounding Area:
The apartment was about a five-minute walk from the Duomo. We just walked out our door and were there.
Tips or Restaurants:
Trattoria Maritone is a great place with great food and service with lots of locals.
Directions:
The easiest thing to do is just take a taxi from the airport. It cost about 25 Euros.
Check In Out:
Lorenzo, the owner, was great! I called him when we arrived (we arrived a few hours early), and he called the house cleaner to let us in and drop off our bags. We walked around Florence, grabbed something to eat, and then Lorenzo called to tell us the apartment was ready. He walked us through the apartment and showed us how to use everything, gave us his contact info, and gave us a map and showed us places to see and his favorite restaurants. Check out was easy; we just left the keys in the apartment and walked out.
