Overall:
The property was great, the views were amazing and the location was quiet and serene. The bedrooms were good and the bathrooms were adequate and quite new. The pool area was nice but we were there in mid May so did not use it that much.
Enjoyed Most:
The views, outside dining area and the check-in/check-out were great.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen is not adequately equipped for cooking at home (beyond breakfast and snacks).
Surrounding Area:
Everything! Beautiful area. The town of Panzano was great and had really amazing restaurants. They have a market on Sunday morning with great produce. We toured vineyards and hiked from Panzano to Greve. That was fun! We went to Assisi; it is 2 hours away but a beautiful place. Siena, Florence are very close.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano. We never walked it; I think it might be doable but the road is narrow and we just didn't have time.
Tips or Restaurants:
Don't expect a well equipped kitchen; we ate out most of the time so it was OK for breakfast and snacks. There are many steps at the property, so it might not be the best choice for someone with mobility issues.
Directions:
We used a GPS and had no issues with finding the property.
Check In Out:
Check In and Check Out were great!

Overall:
It was wonderful. As this was our second time we knew that it would be the perfect ending to our vacation.
Enjoyed Most:
The view, the accommodations.
Surrounding Area:
Yes, we had a car, which is really necessary if you want to explore all that Tuscany has to offer.
Nearby Events or Locales:
It was about 2 miles, but we did not walk it.
Tips or Restaurants:
The only thing that renters need to know is that they should bring some groceries for at least the first day or two. Everything else is there, even a regular coffee pot.
We had dinner at the Steak House behind the Butcher Shop, which was a fun experience.
Directions:
A GPS is essential.
Check In Out:
Seamless.Tthe property manager is great.

Overall:
This was our second stay at Piccola Torre 3. We thourghly enjoyed every bit of it and probably will go back again. The views are incredible.
Enjoyed Most:
The views of the olive gardens and the vineyards are stunning. We would come back from a long day out and pour ourselves a glass of wine and sit by the pool to relax before getting ready for dinner.
Enjoyed Least:
I would say that the kitchen is quite small, but we were able to utilize the large kitchen table to prepare food. Overall it was a minor issue.
Surrounding Area:
The surrounding countryside with its many rolling hills of vineyards and olive groves was magnificent. Panzano was charming with great restaurants. Enjoyed the market on Sunday with all the fresh veg and fruits. There is so much to enjoy.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano, which is approximately 2.5 miles from the villa. It's a great hike if you enjoy hiking. We drove.
Tips or Restaurants:
I would suggest that you purchase toilet paper. They supply each bathroom with some but not enough for seven days with four people.
There are may great restaurants--just follow your nose.
Directions:
We used a GPS. It worked well.
Check In Out:
Checking in and out was extremely easy. Titi was very kind and pleasant. The overall experience was wonderful and looking forward to going back.
Raeanne, September
Overall:
We enjoyed the property very much. Incomparable views. Amenities were very good and the pool is nice, even though we did not use it. You can have a special dinner prepared for you if you wish, wine abundant. We took side trips to Florence, Siena, Cinque Terre, etc.
Enjoyed Most:
Quiet.
Enjoyed Least:
Interior steps.
Surrounding Area:
Panzano for market, Greve for shops.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano, a hike of some note.
Tips or Restaurants:
La Cantinetta do Rignana, outstanding restaurant for those who 'venture down the road'.
Directions:
We used GPS.
Check In Out:
Straightforward and warm.

Overall:
Very nice stay. Beautiful countryside area.
Enjoyed Most:
Very quiet with great views of the valley and vineyards.
Enjoyed Least:
Very small kitchen area for a two bedroom unit.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano was the nearest town, however it was probably a 7-8 minute drive.
Tips or Restaurants:
Stop at the grocery store on the way to the villa, as it is not convenient to swing by the store. Purchase paper towels, coffee and filters, if the store carries filters (paper towels will work in a pinch as a coffee filter if needed).
Directions:
Directions were great.

Overall:
Overall a very good experience. Comfortable for four. Good location. Very quiet.
Enjoyed Most:
Location in central Chianti is very near other attractions and easy to get to. Property is very quiet and has great views of the surrounding area. The private dinners were great and the chef and food were outstanding.
Enjoyed Least:
Kitchen needs attention and an upgrade. If you are in the tower apartment, as we were, you'll climb steps every time you go to the bedroom or bathroom.
Surrounding Area:
The views are spectacular, as is the country setting. Very quiet and relatively untraveled.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano is the nearest town and unless you're into hiking it's not within walking distance, particularly in poor weather.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you plan on cooking, bear in mind that you'll need a chef's knife. Power hungry appliances such as the coffee pot, toaster, and microwave need the grounded adapters--only one was available so we were constantly swapping them around. Must go to Dario's meat market and restaurant in Panzano. Greve, 10km away, has a great square with cheese and wine shops, and good cafes and restaurants. Pizzeria Cantina is a very good restaurant just outside the square in Greve.
Directions:
GPS is a must to find the place. Just put in the coordinates that come in the voucher and the GPS will take you there in spite of spotty reception in the mountains. We took our own Garmin and our car rental also had a Garmin. Both were indispensable.
Check In Out:
Check in and out process was quick and easy. They take cash only for any out of pocket items and for any dinners you want cooked on the property.
Karl, June
Overall:
Life doesn't get better than this! What a wonderful, warm greeting from Titi! You immediately feel relaxed and at home. Everything you need is in the apartment and in excellent condition. If you think of something that you need, just ask and every effort is made to accomodate you. The apartment and the property are immaculate! What a wonderful experience. This was by far one of the best rental properties that I have ever stayed in. Kudos to the owner and staff!
Enjoyed Most:
Location, location, location! Close to everything you want....sightseeing, towns, grocery stores. The views are beyond words...beautiful, magnificent, peaceful, breathtaking! The outdoor dining areas for each apartment are perfect for enjoying meals, snacks or a glass of the vineyards' fantastic wine. The pool area was well appointed with lounge chairs, umbrellas, tables and chairs. The pool was very well maintained and large! I loved the apartment and the views from every window. The bathrooms were modern and large. The owners offer you their wine at a very reasonable price per bottle. (And I do mean reasonable!) Their wine was one of the best that I had in the Classico region of Chianti! Everything was perfect and I did not have one complaint!
Surrounding Area:
The beauty and serenity of the rolling hills and vineyards. The small intimate towns that are nearby.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano--5 minutes by car. Not really within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
I always bring a pound of ground coffee, some tea bags, and packets of sugar so I don't have to immediately run to a store. I also bring zip lock bags for storage of leftovers, etc. Also, I take small garbage bags. These items do not take up any room in your luggage and are convenient to have!
Directions:
Best advice is to rent a car with GPS. Some very tricky turns throughout the region. A lot of small roads. We never had a problem because we used GPS. If we had not had this feature we would have made many errors following maps and general directions!
Check In Out:
Smooth, quick and a very warm welcome and goodbye!
John, May
Overall:
Absolutely fantastic. Had the best time imaginable.
Enjoyed Most:
Way more than we expected. 5 star in my book. The owners could not do enough for us.
Surrounding Area:
The views were breathtaking and it was so private and quiet.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano
Tips or Restaurants:
Simply follow your nose! There are many fantastic places to eat and there are countless day trips to enjoy. You do need a car to get the best out of area.
Directions:
GPS is very handy once you get there. The initial directions were fine.
Check In Out:
Just follow your instructions and all will be fine. The people there are more than helpful.
Kevin, May
Overall:
It was a very peaceful location. The rooms were very good size and the living room was very nice. I enjoyed the fact that we were the only ones staying at this location during our visit. It made us feel like we were at home.
Enjoyed Most:
The views. The caretakers were very inviting and engaging. I really enjoyed the closeness of the restaurant. They really make you feel at home.
Enjoyed Least:
The pool wasn't open!
Surrounding Area:
The town of Panzano was fabulous. We spent many hours there. The residents were very nice and I loved being able to walk everywhere.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano in Chianti was the nearest town. You could walk it. It was only about 30 minutes, however there is a lot of traffic on the narrow road.
Tips or Restaurants:
They have everything. We never had to do without anything. You don't need to pack as much as you'd think!
Directions:
Use a GPS.
Check In Out:
Very easy. Greeted nicely with wine and food and the check out process was very smooth. We did not want to leave.
Christi, April
Overall:
It was amazing. The property manager and owner were so wonderful. We had a great time, and really enjoyed our stay. The views were wonderful as well. I have nothing but great things to say about the property. My friends felt the same way. We were grateful for the stairs because we ate like it was our job while there, so the walking, and the stairs were part of our "workout".
Enjoyed Most:
I loved the feeling of having an apartment in the beautiful country; it was comfortable, and I slept like a small child. My concern was that I would not sleep well on the bed, and it was the furthest thing from the truth.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing. Really, not a thing.
I would make the suggestion that visitors absolutely need a vehicle. There is no getting around it. I did have to walk to the property one night, and it's doable, but not something I would recommend on a daily basis.
Surrounding Area:
I loved the village, and the people in it. There is another village close by which felt touristy, but not Panzano.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano was about three miles away. I walked it one night. It's doable, but I would not recommend it for everyday, unless it's all you'll be doing.
Tips or Restaurants:
The Academy of Buon Gusto is a wine boutique, and Stefano is a charming and wonderfully genuine host. He has a few rules
You are not allowed to buy anything you have not tried.
Just because you try it, does not mean you have to buy it.
You are to enjoy yourself without rushing.
Directions:
The directions should refer to the roundabout as a triangle, because that is how it's shaped. We didn't use GPS because the signal was not consistent.
Check In Out:
It was super easy. This is also a small vineyard, which is nice, because we did not have to worry about running out!
Cynthia, April
Overall:
We really enjoyed our stay here. The setting was so beautiful with the vines all neatly laid out. The tower did have a lot of steps, but the views were amazing as a result and on the top floor we could not hear the couple below us. The three foot thick walls kept us nice and cool and the breezes cooperated as well.
Enjoyed Most:
The views, hands down. The property is located in an operational vineyard and it is just breathtaking. The authenticity is appealing, as well. The wrought iron latches on the windows and the shutters make you feel like you have stepped back in time.
Enjoyed Least:
The housekeeping could have been better.
Surrounding Area:
We had traveled to Tuscany before, but this was our first time in Chianti, and I can't say enough good things about the area. We stopped in Panzano numerous times, Greve also. It's a great jumping off point as well. We visited Frienze, San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena, Pisa, and Luca. I recommend taking the bus to Firenze and Siena as the parking is diffcult. Pick up tickets at the local bar. The owner helped us with the schedules, also.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano is the nearest town and not really within walking distance. The road is really narrow.
Tips or Restaurants:
The had just opened a restaurant on the property when we arrived and we ate there twice. The chef is Pietro Aprigliano and he is talented. The first night we arrived we had wild boar with pasta and a tiramisu that convinced me that I had never had any desert that will ever surpass it. Another night we had spaghetti (homemade) with bolognese sauce and panna cotta with chocolate sauce--another amazing meal. We ate outside under the arbor. Perfect.
Directions:
We used the GPS to get us into the area and then followed the directions to the property. The sign they mentioned was very small--be aware of that. It will be on the left side. Look for the tower.
Check In Out:
We found the key holder to be knowledgeable, charming, and helpful, but not as businesslike as might appeal to American sensibilities.
Margaret, September
Overall:
This is our second time staying here. It is a wonderful choice for location, serenity, views, pool, and walks or drives to nearby towns.
Enjoyed Most:
Pool, landscaping, views, quiet.
Enjoyed Least:
Kitchen is fine, but it could use an upgrade.
Surrounding Area:
The location is perfect to all hill towns in Tuscany and it is between Siena and Florence. You can park for free in Panzano and take the bus to Florence for the day to avoid parking and driving in the Florence area.
Nearby Events or Locales:
You can walk to Greve and Panzano. Get a walking map at the tourist IT in Greve and then learn the walking routes. I suggest not to use the main road...dangerous and long. Find your way on the routes through the vineyards and backroads. You must have a car, though, to get around.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you do plan on doing a bit of cooking...you may want to pack your favorite chef knife. Also, bring ziplock type bags and plastic wear to store food if you want to cook a bit. The COOP in Panzano is sufficient; Sunday Panzano farmer's market, Saturday farmer's market in Greve, and larger COOP in Greve are great to get good bread, cheeses, and meats...good little grocery store.
Directions:
Must have a GPS to travel by car easily and always get home to your villa!
Check In Out:
Ensure you understand the WiFi sign-in procedures so you have connection.
Tracy, June
Overall:
Wonderful.
Enjoyed Most:
The views and the bedrooms. And the property was immaculately clean. The villa was just perfect for two couples.
Enjoyed Least:
There was a fair amount of noisy gas-powered work happening on the estate in the mornings when we were there. That is our only complaint.
Surrounding Area:
The local village, and Sunday market, was wonderful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano; it was a good half-hour hilly hike, but well worth it.
Directions:
GPS coordinates were perfect.
Check In Out:
Our keyholder, Tabotu, was wonderful. We had flight snafus and arrived very late and she so considerately had welcoming food and coffee for our first morning. It was a wonderful end to a very tiring day.
Amanda, May
Overall:
Our overall experience was great. Sunny weather and bright blue skies and at night the full moon. Quiet with no traffic sounds, birds in the a.m. Equipment and furnishings complete, except we did need a cutting board. Panzano is so close and provided grocery shopping. Info about needing GPS is most helpful. Close enough to drive for day trips to Siena and San Gimignano and Pisa; and we took the bus to Florence for the day. Manager is most helpful and friendly.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and the setting are my favorite part of Piccola Torre 3. The tower provides an excellent vantage point from which to see all the colors and terrain of the Tuscany area.
Enjoyed Least:
What I liked least were the 3 flights of stairs to climb to get to the top bedroom in the tower.
Surrounding Area:
Panzano was a joy to visit. Arriving on Saturday allows one to experience the market on Sunday. The roast meat-pork and chicken-are quite tasty and the vegetables are a real plus.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano is the nearest small town and I would not advise walking the 3 kms or so to get there on the road with very little shoulder. We did, however, see walkers on it.
Tips or Restaurants:
A GPS is essential. Read a lot aobut the area. We were in Rome for 3 days then took the train to Florence and rented the car. We drove to Panzano down SR222 and wandered through Ferrone. The trattoria there is superb. They were delighted to have us on Sat going down and on Sat going back to Florence. Flying out of Florence was easier than going back to Rome. Panzano's coffee shop near the alimentare was good and they recognized us after 3 or so days of cappucinos and pastries.
Directions:
Coordinates on the GPS are essential to finding this property.
Check In Out:
Check in and ot went smoothly. Th complimentary wine fromn the area is quite tasty.
Diana, October
Overall:
We had an EXCELLENT experience at Piccola Torre 3, located in Panzano. Our villa was second to none in both location, friendly welcoming staff, picture perfect view and facility. It was a perfect Tuscan vacation and we look forward to returning here often.
Enjoyed Most:
Great scenery every mornining and evening. Easy to get to location and GREAT WINE.
Enjoyed Least:
Steps to our bedroom located in the very top of the villa. Although they were many, once there the view was spectacular.
Surrounding Area:
We were in very close proximity to many small towns and vineyards. Great Tuscan restaurants and very friendly people.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano. It is a very good hike to town, but an easy drive.
Tips or Restaurants:
The area is loaded with many local restaurants and vineyards to visit. We used the book furnished by Rentvillas and found it very valuable. It helped us locate local markets on a daily basis and many good restaurants and butcher shops. Dont miss Dario's butcher shop in Panzano.
Directions:
We did use a GPS that we broght from the states and once we got to Panzano, we called the key holder, who escorted us to the property. My GPS would have gotten us there, but she insisted on meeting us.
Check In Out:
When checking out, leave room in your suit case for the local wine you can purchase from the key holder. Excellent and very reasonable.
Robert, October
Overall:
One of the best villas we've ever rented.
Lou, September
Overall:
Lovely relaxing time in a beautiful villa in an amazingly beautiful location.
Enjoyed Most:
The location/views as well as the poolside area.
Enjoyed Least:
Our kitchen was very small and a bit difficult to work in. The lack of a small dishwasher meant a lot of time was spent washing up dishes.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano. Not really easy to walk to, but possible
Tips or Restaurants:
Dinner at the Hotel Sangiovese in Panzano was delicious.
Check In Out:
Staff was always helpful and friendly, from check-in to check-out.
Julianne, August
Overall:
Very relaxing...nice, quiet property.
Enjoyed Most:
Three level unit, with beautiful views from top two floors.
Enjoyed Least:
We found the kitchen to be somewhat basic. The location was isolated, and the roads were bumpy.
Surrounding Area:
Panzano was a fantastic town...several high-quality restaurants, a good size grocery store, etc.
Richard, August
Overall:
Our experience at Piccola Torre 3 was fantastic! The property is stunning. This particular unit is in the tower, and although there are many steps you are rewarded with gorgeous views and lovely breezes. The people are warm and welcoming in Panzano and in every town we visited. I didn't want to leave!
Enjoyed Most:
I loved just about everything at this property. It was very clean and well maintained. As I stated above, the views are spectacular. We all enjoyed the pool very much. I even took pleasure in hanging our laundry in the olive groves--it was mint scented when I retrieved it. We were also pleasantly surprised to have WiFi!
Enjoyed Least:
The one thing that makes this property unique, can also be its downfall: all those stairs! After a long day out and about, I didn't always relish the climb up the stairs.
Surrounding Area:
We visited several towns nearby and loved them all. The roads and driving can be a bit challenging, so I recommend a GPS. That said, there was a beautiful vista around every corner. I learned to keep my camera out and ready in the car so I wouldn't miss a great shot.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest town is Panzano. It is about a ten minute drive. You can walk it, but we didn't. It is very small, but lovely. I was quite comfortable letting my children go off on their own, get gelato, or explore a bit. They have a small market on Sunday with fresh veggies and fruit, cheese, bread, even roast chicken. Anything you don't get at the market you can get at the Coop which is quite easy to get to from the villa, and even has ample parking.
Tips or Restaurants:
It was quite nice that we were provided with small soaps in the bathrooms, and a few rolls of toilet paper. It was enough to get us through a few days until we stocked up at the Coop. They also provide plenty of towels, but no wash cloths (as is the case all over Italy).
We ate at several places in Panzano, and they were all good. But we had some seriously good food at Il Vescovino. We ate on the patio overlooking the valley. The owner is a delightful man who served us food of the highest quality. The gnocchi were the best I have eaten anywhere. Everything was prepared perfectly, and served with great pride. I would highly recommend at least one meal at this restaurant.
Directions:
We used the GPS to get there. You really need to use the coordinates, as the road has no name!
Check In Out:
The keyholder makes you feel right at home. She is just wonderful. Checking in and out were no problem,
Steve, June
Overall:
Enjoyable but slightly disappointing.
Enjoyed Most:
The location. The view. The building.
Enjoyed Least:
1. The kitchen!!!!! 1 tiny chopping board, no bench space to even put that on. We were unable to self-cater as had been our intention. Crappiest toaster ever.
2. Lack of any iPod dock for music!!
3. The shower cubicles were too small - especially the one on the 1st floor.
4. The bed on the first floor was also a lot less comfortable that the bed on the second floor.
5. Having to sit on the front step to pick up the Wi-fi.
6. Only being able to check in and out on Sat was crazy! The lady who checked us in was also there on a Friday, and only 30 minutes away when she had to drop off an adapter to get the toaster to work mid-week.
7. The sofa was too small uncomfortable - even just for a family of 3.
Surrounding Area:
The view. Exploring the back roads. The restaurant La Castellana in Montefioralle.
Tips or Restaurants:
1. When you do a Google map search for 'Panzano', it shows you 'Panzano', 35kms out of Bologna. The online blurb should clearly state the correct location as 'Panzano in Chianti'.
2. The kitchen needs to be dramatically improved. You cannot cook in it. It's hard to even make toast successfully.
3. iPod music dock desperately needed.
4. Wi-fi needs to be dealt with.
6. More flexible check in-out.
7. Better sofas more of them.
Check In Out:
The process itself was good - however as already mentioned, the Sat in and out is too restrictive. We would have liked to have been there for 10 days.
Georgia, May
Overall:
Excellent. The location was great for visiting the places we wanted to visit. The weather was ideal during our visit.
Enjoyed Most:
Location and facilities for two couples. Outside facilities were outstanding for evening relaxing. Views from the property were outstanding.
Enjoyed Least:
There was a problem with early season bugs. The microwave was not set up to run due to not having the proper adapter. The hot water system was stressed when all four of us took showers at about the same time.
Surrounding Area:
The surrounding area was terrific. The countryside was beautiful, the food was great, and the people exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano was a 3.5 km hilly walk each way.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa was well equipped. The La Torre wine sold at the villa was exceptional and extremely reasonable. A car is a must and unless you are extremely familiar with the area a GPS is also a must.
All the restaurant we tried in Panzano were great, especially Oltre Il Giardino.
Check In Out:
Tabotu was great with both check in and check out. She was very helpful, gave great suggestions and was very interesting to talk to, supplying us with helpful information about the Italian culture and the area.
Stephen A., April
Overall:
We loved the villa. It was clean and was exactly what we expected. No surprises.
Enjoyed Most:
The history behind it and the view of the area.
Enjoyed Least:
No screens on the windows. That is something that I just don't understand. We wanted to leave the windows open at night, but could not because we did not want bugs, bats or birds to fly in.
Surrounding Area:
The little town of Panzano. They had several cute restaurants and a small coop store for groceries.
Julie, September
Overall:
We had high expectations for our experience at this property and we were extremely happy with what we got. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The accommodations were better than expected and better than what the pictures depict. The views are amazing! The service received from Rent Villas and the Key Holder were great. We simply had a wonderful time and it was well worth the price paid!
Enjoyed Most:
The view was outstanding. I was such a pleasure to wake up every morning and look out our window at such a spectacular site!
Additionally, a couple of the local restaurants really made our visit special!!
Enjoyed Least:
It seemed like it took a long time to get places. The property is situated at a very high elevation in the mountains which contributes greatly to its appeal. That said, you have to take slow, winding roads to get anywhere which took longer than expected. It's a good 'trade-off' I suppose.
Surrounding Area:
We visited Cinque Terre and Siena as well as a couple of other small towns. We enjoyed them all! Cinque Terre was especially wonderful but was a bit of a trek to get there and back. Do your research!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano was the closest town. It is a small town with a couple of great restaurants in town and in the surrounding area. It was not within walking distance but was a short driving distance away 5 mins. Keep in mind afternoon siestas in Italy when all businesses close between 1-4pm usually. Also, services and stores are limited on Sundays! As Canadians, this was not something we were used too!
Tips or Restaurants:
If you expect to partake in a few beverages, bring an ice tray! You can't buy ice at the grocery store and there is only a small ice tray in the freezer that couldn't keep up with the four of us!!
Check In Out:
Key holder was very helpful and friendly.
Steve, July
Overall:
Excellent, it's like a piece of heaven on earth. It's really a place to relax and enjoy good wine and food.
Enjoyed Most:
The views were spectacular from the top room of the tower. You could see all the wineries surrounding the property, and waking up with this views is breathtaking.
Enjoyed Least:
Too many stairs, but being able to see the surroundings is so worth it.
Surrounding Area:
The calm, the beauty...
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano is about 3.5 km away, but I did run to it every other day, for a breathtaking jogging time.
Tips or Restaurants:
Don't forget to get a GPS on the car, bring your swimsuit because the pool is very refreshing when the weather is very hot. Basically all the restaurants in the area are good so not to worry.
Directions:
Once Panzano is located all the directions are excellent. No GPS until the second day, so I did have a hard time finding it at night.
Check In Out:
Everything was smooth.
pablo, July
Overall:
We enjoyed our villa experience quite a lot.
Enjoyed Most:
The view from the upper bedroom was extraordinary. Also, the surrounding areas, the countryside and the vineyards were really beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed just walking around the immediate area.
Enjoyed Least:
The sitting area needs better lighting and I believe would be a little small for four. we were only two so that was not a problem for us. The kitchen is also somewhat cramped. There are quite a few stairs - 54 to get to the top. I was not really bothered by this, but it could be an issue for some folks.
Surrounding Area:
Very beautiful and idyllic. It had a nice, calming affect, especially if you are used to the intensity of city life. The people in the area were exceptionally nice and helpful when we had questions.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano was about 5-6 kilometers away. It is walkable if you're in the mood for a hike. We did not walk it.
Tips or Restaurants:
The villa was more well equipped than we expected from the info we got. The keyholder took the time to show us around and explain how everything worked. You can buy what you need in Panzano, even on Sunday when there is an open air market and a few stores are open. We ate at Il Giardino a couple times - very good. There is a washer at the villa but it is small and no dryer. If you drive to Greve, about 15 minutes away, there is a self-service laundromat.
Directions:
Did not use GPS. Once we got our bearings after the first day we were able to get to and from the property without any problem.
Check In Out:
The keyholder was very nice and accommodating. All we had to provide was a copy of our passports and she checked us in. The villa was well equipped and clean when we got there. Only a couple of light bulbs didn't work. We paid 50 euros for the cleaning which didn't seem unreasonable. she also welcomed us with a free bottle of wine from the vineyard adjacent to the villa.
Ralph, May
Overall:
Loved villa life. Very relaxing. Property was well equipped.
Enjoyed Most:
Peace and quiet. View from top bedroom.
Enjoyed Least:
Small kitchen, especially with many people preparing meal at same time. Bigger wine glasses would be nice.
Surrounding Area:
Great location. Car is mandatory. Loved the local markets.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano. I wouldn't attempt walking it.
Tips or Restaurants:
The butcher in Panzano, Dario puts on a great meal Thurs, Friday and Saturday nights. Really enjoyed BBQ as we were usually tired from sightseeing during day and welcomed relaxing in evening. CO-OP stores in Panzano Greve had everything we needed.
Directions:
We used a GPS but couldn't find the co-ordinates. We relied on written directions that were given and these were fine. Tell renters do not take 1st driveway (bumpy road) into villa - there's another a few 100 meters down the road.
Check In Out:
No problems.

My favorite restaurant is Oltre Il Giardino in Panzano. There is an excellent restaurants in Lamole; I do not remember the name, but it is the only one.

Overall:
Our stay in Piccola Torre 3 was perfect for 4 people who don't mind stairs. It was located in a medieval 3 story tower with living-dining room-kitchen on level 1, bedroom and bath on both the second and third floors. There are several other units, suitable for 2 people, on the property.
Enjoyed Most:
Just about everything was perfect. The pool and views were gorgeous. The rooms were lovely and beds were very comfortable. The property, part of a working vineyard, was ideally located for exploring Tuscany. The owner was very pleasant and accommodating.
Enjoyed Least:
We enjoyed everything about the property. It was the highlight of our extended trip in Italy.
Surrounding Area:
The surrounding countryside with its vistas of olive groves and vineyards was magnificent. The nearby town of Panzano was charming with an excellent restaurant. Don't miss the famous butcher and his 6 course dinner.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest small town, Panzano, was approximately 2 miles away. We didn't walk into Panzano although hikers could easily walk to town and back.
Tips or Restaurants:
Go and enjoy. The villa was very well equipped and you can easily pick up any supplies you need at the COOP grocery store in Panzano. Our favorite restaurant in Panzano was Il Vescovino. The friendly staff greets you with a complementary glass of prosecco. The food was superb.
Check In Out:
We arrived about an hour before check in time and were graciously received and shown our accommodation. The receptionist gave us useful information on the area.

Overall:
We pet the nose of the wild board at Piazza del Mercato Nuovo in Florence - so hopefully we'll return!
Enjoyed Most:
There were so many things to love...the view was stunning, with miles and miles of vineyards, olive orchards, forests, winding roads, other villas and small hill towns. The house wine was delicious; the pool was lovely; dinner on the terrace overlooking the vineyards was magical; the Contessa was charming; the location was convenient to a slew of hill towns as well as major cities like Florence and Siena.
Enjoyed Least:
The kitchen could use an upgrade, especially the stove/oven.
The bugs were the biggest annoyance we missed having screens on the windows. Sleeping covered in bug spray was not pleasant, but better than the alternative.
Surrounding Area:
The Sunday market in Panzano was excellent especially the butcher. The plaza in Greve was great, too.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano. In theory it was within walking distance - though the roads are so narrow and winding that it wasn't a very convenient walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
Rentvillas sent a list of items that we should bring which proved to be invaluable. We ended up leaving many of the items such as the cutting board and sharp knife at the villa for future guests.
The best restaurant of the entire trip was only a few km from the villa; I believe it is called Cantineta de la Rignata - call ahead and ask for a great table on the terrace.

Enjoyed Most:
This was my second time at the property, this tells you something. The
location is excellent, the view is magnificent, the swimming pool is very
good and a perfect place to rest after the daily trip visiting other areas.
Enjoyed Least:
Piccola Torre 3 should have more light in the dining area, either
a lamp on the ceiling on top of the table or an extra window.
Surrounding Area:
There is everything to enjoy in the surrounding area, the property is
located in the heart of the Chianti Region in Tuscany. We drove to Siena,
Arezzo, San Gimignano, Pisa, Vinci etc. But we took the bus from Panzano
to Florence, I did it both ways, by car and by bus, but I definitely recommend taking the bus !!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano is the nearest small town, about 3.5 miles; we did not walk.
Tips or Restaurants:
My suggestions ? Enjoy the place and the area. Other than having breakfast
at home, we did not cook. We used the restaurants in Panzano, all very good. We also liked the Enoteca; it has a short smart menu.

Enjoyed Most:
Its condition, the view, the proximity to places in Tuscany. The manager was most helpful and pleasant. She did an excellent job.
Enjoyed Least:
The stairs...the unit is up one set of stairs, and the first bedroom up another set. Also the kitchen was less than satisfactory.
Surrounding Area:
You can't explain how great Tuscany is...
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano...no, it was not within OUR walking distance!
Tips or Restaurants:
The restaurant in La Piazza was out of this world.
Check In Out:
As I stated, the local manager was most helpful, considerate, and informative

Overall:
Thanks for all your help. We had a wonderful holiday .
Enjoyed Most:
Everything - we had a wonderful time and would love to return.
Enjoyed Least:
Nothing
Surrounding Area:
Countryside and lack of tourism in Panzano.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano - 4km -probably too far to walk but an easy drive.
Tips or Restaurants:
IL VESCOVINO was very good.
Directions:
Just follow the directions.

Overall:
The villa was very nice and well-kept. The driving directions were perfect.
Enjoyed Most:
The location, the peace, the pool, the large and comfortable bedrooms.
Enjoyed Least:
We like to cook, so the kitchen was ideal.
Surrounding Area:
The valley where the villa is located is green and plush and very scenic. It was ideal for touring to be located between Florence and Siena.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano was the nearest town and it was a long walk with some serious hills. We walked it once.
Tips or Restaurants:
Panzano has a great restaurant called Giardinero with great views and amazing food. Bring bug spray and pool towels.
Check In Out:
Slightly inconvenient to be restricted at the check-in and check-out, but as there is no reception, it is understandable.

Overall:
We have told many friends about the property and can't wait to return!
Enjoyed Most:
The views were stunning. We absolutely loved looking out over the countryside. The peace and quiet were wonderful. We have three young children and they loved the property as well especially the swimming pool. We visited in August and had been concerned that the weather would be too hot, but the weather was quite agreeable. With the windows open, the cross breezes always kept the temperature comfortable.
Enjoyed Least:
The living room was not particularly cozy, but it was more than adequate.
Surrounding Area:
We loved driving the windy roads in the surrounding area. We particularly enjoyed the walled city of Montefioralle near Greve. We had a fantastic dinner while watching the sunset at a little restaurant there. We also loved Siena and enjoyed all the excitement surrounding the Palio horse race.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano is the nearest small town. I walked there several times, but for shopping I would definitely recommend driving. The people were very friendly and the little shops include a small grocer, which had enough supplies to get us started. We shopped at the market there on Sunday morning and picked up a few good maps.
Tips or Restaurants:
It really helped to have detailed maps of the area. We used our maps to try different routes each time we set out and were delighted to discover so many beautiful places. Badia a Pasignano is an old abbey I think it was founded in 1064 and if you take some back roads, it is not far at all. After exploring the area, we enjoyed coming back to the tower and looking out the windows to find all the places we had been. The views are just incredible. We could even see San Gimignano off in the distance.
Directions:
We managed to find the property even in the dark in the midst of a thunderstorm!
Check In Out:
Janette was very kind - even when she had to wait until 9:30 for our arrival! Traffic was very bad. It seems as though all of Europe goes on holiday in August so we were later than anticipated.
Sherrill, August
Enjoyed Most:
The farmhouse was extraordinarily clean and well maintained. The 360 degree views were breathtaking. A symphony of birdsongs greeted us each morning. Some of our best times were spent sitting on the porch or by the pool overlooking the Tuscan hills.
Enjoyed Least:
The weather was beautiful and sunny, but alas was also unusually hot. This made for some hot nights when the breeze didn't kick in. There is no AC and the villa has no fans.
Surrounding Area:
We went to many small hill towns, as well as down to Siena and even took a day drive up to Venice. The roads were easy to navigate and full of sunflowers and poppies.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano was only about ten minutes away by car. I suppose you could walk it, if so desired.
Tips or Restaurants:
Everywhere we ate was wonderful, though we loved shopping at the Coop in town and cooking meals at the villa. One good summer tip is to freeze small water bottles for your daily outings. In Tuscany, it is always good to have a detailed map of the region. It pays for itself the first day. Also, remember benzine is gasoline and gasolio is diesel.
Check In Out:
Janet, our keyholder, was prompt, helpful and cheerful both at our arrival and during our departure.

Overall:
This is an outstanding property - well kept and managed. It is no wonder that people come back year after year. The wine from the winery was very good!
Enjoyed Most:
The place had so much charm! The views were spectacular from every window! The villa was in excellent condition! The wine was fantastic!
Enjoyed Least:
It is difficult to say. Perhaps the steps up to the ground floor were more than we expected, but we soon conquered them!
Surrounding Area:
Everything in Tuscany is spectacular. This location was good to see all of the sights. Greve is a great nearby small town. Good grocery store there. People were very friendly.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano was a 10-minute drive with a bit of a curvy road. It was great to go into town on Sunday morning for the market that was held in the town square.
Tips or Restaurants:
Buy coffee and breakfast food for Sunday, if possible. Need paper towels. We were given a basket of goodies, including instant coffee, cream, sugar and cookies. This was a nice touch. We ate at the local bar in town and at Il Gordino's, an excellent restaurant with a view!
Check In Out:
The keyholder was very gracious, even though she had to wait until after 10PM for us. She was most helpful and had many suggestions for the area. The cell phone will not work in the building, but will work outside.
Kay, May
Overall:
The property is out in the country, but the peace and quiet is lovely. The view from the tower of our room was spectacular. All views are really fine from all windows in our villa. We loved it.
Enjoyed Most:
It was in the heart of Tuscany, and yet the access to Florence and Siena was easy bybus from Panzano. Panzano was only 1 mile from the villa.
Enjoyed Least:
Probably the living room furniture. It was just 4 barrel chairs. It was hard to get
comfortable, and kitchen was very small, but adequate. We cooked two meals there and ate breakfast most mornings.
Surrounding Area:
The surrounding area was hilly, with wonderful vineyards. Rolling hills, and so green with lovely trees and winding roads with just beautiful scenery around the corner of each and every turn.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Panzano was only 1 mile from our villa, Greve was 5 miles a little bigger town, where you could shop at the Coop grocery store. We found all we really needed right in Panzano. They have a market every Sunday so you could find all the fish, vegetables, meats, and cheese.
Tips or Restaurants:
Highly recommend the Trattoria "da Pordo" it was in the country about 2 miles from the villa on a gravel road. I believe it is listed in the blue book in the villa, along with another restaurant which starts with an O. It also is in the town of Panzano. Served a wonderful meal with a great view of the countryside.
