Customer Reviews

Overall:
Villa Alejandra is a wonderful place. It is peaceful with an incredible view. It was hard to leave it to explore more of Spain. It felt like home very quickly.
Enjoyed Most:
We loved the view and the enclosed terrace.
Enjoyed Least:
The beds were squeaky but comfortable.
Surrounding Area:
It is a beautiful part of the world. The town is lovely with great markets and wonderful beach area.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Salobrena was close but you have to have a car.
Tips or Restaurants:
There is a great kitchen with spices and all your needs. Grocery shopping was so reasonable that we tended to eat in but there were lots of great places along the beach.
Directions:
We used directions from GoogleMaps on an iPad. VERY helpful to look up the location then take pictures of the map. There are very small streets so a small car is very helpful.
Check In Out:
The property caretaker was very helpful.

Overall:
We had a wonderful time! Thanks, Rentvillas!
Enjoyed Most:
The view out the back porch overlooking the town, the castle, and the sea was amazing!
Enjoyed Least:
I honestly can't think of a thing. Other reviewers mentioned the noise from the main road -- it is there if you're looking-listening for it, but none of us had any complaints. Though we were there in low season I could see that it might become more of an issue at a busier time.
Surrounding Area:
Being centrally located along the coast allowed us to drive to many different places. Seville and Cordoba were a little too far to try to get to without an overnight stay, but other than that everywhere we wanted to go was in fairly easy driving distance.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Salobreña is not within walking distance -- you will need a car. It's a short convenient drive though.
Tips or Restaurants:
The house is very well equipped, and the stores and markets of Salobreña are there if you find something you need. The owners-managers of the property left us a guidebook that they prepared which includes a nice list of area restaurants -- all the ones we tried from the book were great.

Overall:
The place was beautiful, relaxing, comfortable, and we would absolutely return again. It was very hard to leave! We loved the two cats who were hanging around. Not sure if they were strays or lived nearby, but they added a nice homey touch.
Enjoyed Most:
The beautiful view of Salobrena and the Mediterranean from the balcony-deck.
Enjoyed Least:
At times the noise from the road below was a bit much, interfering with what was otherwise an idyllic setting.
Surrounding Area:
It was close to the mountains, so we were able to go exploring the small mountain towns on a couple of occasions.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We loved the look and feel of Salobrena, our first taste of how real Spaniards live outside the city. I wouldn't say it was within walking distance, unless you're in the mood for a really long walk along a busy highway.
Tips or Restaurants:
We cooked almost all of our own meals while there, which was very relaxing for us. The kitchen as well as the rest of the villa was well-equipped. Figuring out the supermercado was a bit challenging but fun, and people were very friendly and helpful.

Overall:
We had a fantastic stay and would stay there again.
Enjoyed Most:
The large deck with the view -- a great place to relax.
Enjoyed Least:
The road noise was not intrusive, but during the days was background noise.
Surrounding Area:
Loved the town of Salobrena. It was exactly what we were looking for -- small and quaint, nice beaches and restaurants bars near the beaches, and a great town center with long, winding roads and stairs up to the top of the hill.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Salobrena was within walking distance, but it was only a few km away, but we always drove.
Tips or Restaurants:
There is an Argentinian steakhouse on the beach that we loved. there is also a great tavern higher up in the town but I'll be darned if i could direct anyone to find it!
