Situated on a large estate with other luxury villas, this luxury villa rental is perfect for a wedding in Tuscany. It has a completely private setting 5 km off the main road. The estate's vast private land borders a National Park so it is not uncommon to spy deer, pheasants, and other wild game. Beautifully landscaped with native flora, this Tuscany luxury villa's private grounds include a lovely swimming pool surrounded by comfortable lounge chairs. It is an ideal spot to enjoy peace, quiet, and spectacular views of the Tuscan countryside. This is a great Tuscany villa for a large group or family because each beautifully furnished bedroom has its own large ensuite bathroom. There are trails and dirt roads on the estate for jogging or walking. Conveniently located in Southern Tuscany, it is possible to take day trips to Montepulciano, Montalcino, Pienza, and Cortona, as well as destinations in Umbria, such as Perugia, Orvieto, and Todi. You can arrange to have a cook prepare meals in your own home, or drive 8 minutes into the nearby town for dinner.

The estate is located south of Siena, 12 km southwest of the Chiusi/Chianciano exit of the A1 autostrada. The nearest town is Sarteano (10km.) It is not within walking distance. The nearest grocery store in Sarteano is open in the morning until 1:00 pm and in the afternoon from 4:30 - 7:30 pm. There is also a large supermarket off the A1 autostrada which is open all day until 8:30 pm. Sarteano has good restaurants for lunch or dinner. Chiusi offers a large supermarket and good restaurants also. It takes about 1 ½ hours to drive to Siena and Assisi.
Nearby Attractions: There are thermal pools and spas within a 15-minute drive from the estate. The closest tennis court is in Sarteano, 5 km from the estate (reservations are necessary). There are two horseback riding establishments 5 km away. The nearest golf course is 25 minutes away by car.

(2000 acres) An 11th century abbey is the focal point of this estate. There are eleven independent, Tuscan luxury villa rentals decorated in a similar minimalist, architectural style. Each villa is separate and private from other structures, and each has a wonderful view. Casa I Picci is composed of four buildings dating back to the 15th and 16th Century. It was restored in 2000. There is a main building, an annex and two independent guest houses. Casa I Picci has a very beautiful garden just in front of the house. On a little hill on the back side of the house is the private swimming pool, which enjoys a wonderful view of the valley over the roof of the house. Close to the farmhouse wonderful hiking trails leading through the hills can be found. The dirt/gravel road up to the house is long (5km) and uphill, but it does not require a 4x4!

Ground Floor: There is a sitting room with fireplace and access to the garden, a fully-equipped kitchen with access to the garden, a guest bathroom, one twin-bedded room with ensuite bathroom with shower, one double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower, one twin-bedded room with ensuite bathroom with shower and access to the garden, and a laundry room.
First Floor: (accessed by an outside stone staircase and an inside spiral staircase): There is a sitting room with an old stone fireplace and three twin-bedded rooms with ensuite bathrooms, two with showers and one with tub.
Annex: There is a large dining room with a long dining table and a sitting room with a large picture window.
Two Independent Guest Houses:These two guesthouses share a terrace. One house has a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower; the other has a twin-bedded room with bathroom with shower.

Enjoyed Most:
The space worked very well for our group. In general very peaceful. Amazing bird singing in early morning. Fun wildlife - rabbits, pheasants, lizards. Plenty of bathrooms. Central Abbey and overall property was outstanding. We had a wonderful housekeeper. The office was promptly attentive to concerns such as a dishwasher problem.
Enjoyed Least:
The road in of 4km did become a little tedious and was not in excellent shape. On the other hand it was part of the adventure. The nearby pig barn was at time irritating mainly because of intermittent odour and very occasional pig squeals. The flies were fierce; other insects not a problem. The pool could have been in better repair. The fantastic view was partially obscured by unnecessary foliage that could be trimmed. A larger fridge and an outdoor grill would be a real asset.
Surrounding Area:
Excellent location. Multitude of interesting and attractive places nearby. Easy access to larger towns and cities. Vineyards and olive oil producers to visit. Highways in excellent shape.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Sarteano was about 9 km away.
Tips or Restaurants:
There is an excellent grocery store immediately on exiting the Autostrada that is open Saturday until 830 and after July 1st open also on Sunday. Strongly encourage a stop there for supplies on the way in.

Enjoyed Most:
The view, the annex with the dinning and living area was great for a large group. The cook did a great job but she was misinformed on the size of our group. In addition she substituted pork for chicken on the first night, otherwise the food was great.
Enjoyed Least:
We did not enjoy the long 2 mile drive every day on the unpaved road. This villa was not good for city folks. A couple of days would have been good but a full week was too long. My guests felt isolated.
Surrounding Area:
The views were fantastic.
Tips or Restaurants:
We did not know that we needed to buy toilet paper. In addition there was no dryer. The towel and linen changes of only once per week were not ample. The linen changes should be every other day.

Enjoyed Most:
All rooms had good en-suite facilities. Rooms were private and well equipped. The housekeeper cooked us some wonderful meals - strongly recommended.
Enjoyed Least:
The long road was in poor condition upon our arrival, but the staff, once notified, were swift and decisive in expediting the matter.
Surrounding Area:
Peace and tranquility. The nightly display of fireflies and glowworms always amazed.
Tips or Restaurants:
The Frateria di Padre Eligio at the Convento di San Francesco; Mondo X in Cetona is one of the most stunning building settings any of us 12 adults have ever been to. The restaurant is fantastic, in particular the degustazione menu. Very highly recommended.
