This location is for those who have always wanted to stay in the midst of a famous wine estate in the Chianti Classico. Vineyards, a trattoria, pool, tennis court, and reception are all there for your enjoyment. The borgo, though rural, is conveniently located between Florence and Siena.

Located on a famous wine estate in the Chianti Classico area, this is a beautifully renovated and restored stone hamlet with views of vineyards and rolling hills. The hamlet is located two kilometers from the small town of Montefiridolfi which offers basic shops. It is conveniently located midway between the cities of Florence and Siena and close to the unofficial capital of the Chianti region: Greve in Chianti. Greve is a wonderful small town overlooked by the Castle of Montefioralle. Visit Piazza Matteotti for an espresso and explore the shops or pick up some local produce at the Saturday morning market. If you’re traveling in late summer or fall, expect to stumble upon food and wine festivals held regularly in the town. Traveling by car from this location is convenient as the exit from the Superstrada is in Tavernelle Val di Pesa.

This estate consists of the main complex comprised of 17 apartments (Bianco apartments), a reception desk, and pool area, tennis court, and a trattoria. Additionally, there is a farmhouse (Rosso apartments) housing seven beautiful apartments on the hillside above. Access to the Rosso farmhouse is via 2 km of a steep, unpaved road (common in the Chianti region). There is one pool for the Bianco apartments and another one for the Rosso apartments. They are open from mid-May to the end of October. Guests staying in the Rosso apartments can drive down the unpaved road to the main complex to use the facilities.

Ground Floor: Handicap accessible. There is a double bedroom and a handicap accessible bathroom with tub and handheld shower head. The large living area, kitchen, and dining area enjoy an open plan design and are decorated in cheerful lavender tones. The sitting area is equipped with a TV. There is a separate entrance and a small private garden.

Overall:
The apartment was very nice, good furniture, nice bath.
Friendly personnel at the front desk. With the cold snap, heaters worked fine.
Enjoyed Most:
Location and views were great. Breakfast was included and that was a plus.
Enjoyed Least:
It was not crowded when we were there in October so there was excellent peace and quiet. May be too many apartments and too crowded for summer rentals.
Surrounding Area:
Area is all grape vines and olive trees, fantastic views all around.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Nearest "town" of any size was Tavarnelle - 5 minutes drive.
Tips or Restaurants:
Good restaurants around, keeping the information to myself.
Directions:
Used a GPS that took us to about 800 yards short of the entrance.

Overall:
Overall, our experience was an excellent one. The apartment worked very well for us and the customer service at the reception and the trattoria were excellent. The grounds were beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. The experience was just what we wanted - a combination of restful and well-placed for driving to a number of locations.
Enjoyed Most:
The setting was very beautiful! This in combination with the flowering trees, landscaping, pool, restful areas, singing birds, wonderful reception, etc, plus the spaciousness of the apartment. All were very lovely!
Enjoyed Least:
We could have used more kitchen items to truly do our own cooking.
Surrounding Area:
The rural, yet wine production grounds, were perfect! The beauty of the hills, the landscaping, nature, birds, spaciousness, peace from city activity, closeness to hill towns, ability to shop easily, the chance to be part of the resident population - these were all very enjoyable!
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest small town was Montefiridolfi. The nearest shopping town was probably Mercatale where there was a good value Coop to shop for groceries.
Tips or Restaurants:
For entertainment, if you need films for evening relaxation, etc, don't rely on Italian TV. Bring a portable DVD player and your own films. We loved the restaurant at the property. Otherwise, we were mostly out and about.
