Transformed into a villa, this converted watermill features high ceilings, the mill’s original exposed wood beams, rustic stone walls, an Arab tile roof, and, of course, a magnificent waterwheel. Every room is a work of art, a masterpiece of history blended with contemporary design of the finest quality. You’ll dine al fresco in the villa’s private grounds, with palm and lemon trees, and vibrant bougainvillea as the backdrop.

Location Description

The villa is located near Las Cuevas Del Almanzora, one of the oldest towns of Almeria province. Here you will find bars, restaurants, supermarkets and shops. In the early 19th century, silver was discovered here. Proof of the silver rush legacy remains in the impressive bourgeois architecture, grand avenues, majestic churches, and elegant family mansions. Here you’ll discover a complex of cave houses (casas Cueva) that once housed miners. For a day of excursions, you’ll find a plethora of things to see and do nearby.

Nearby Attractions: The area around Cuevas del Almanzora abounds in prehistoric settlements and archaeological sites, including Fuente Alamo and Almizaraque. You’ll want to see Marquez de Velez Castle, a 16thcentury wonders now home to Antonio Manuel Campoy Museum of Contemporary Art. For sports enthusiasts, the area offers some of the most spectacular venues in the world. You can dive in the marine reserve of Cabo de Gato Natural Park where the clear water is perfect for high visibility snorkeling.

Exterior Description

This rustic watermill was built in 1750. It got a masterful overhaul in 2001 when it was transformed into a charming villa that accommodates 6 people. Just 218 yards from the villa, the Desert Springs Golf Course awaits you. The 18-hole course, designed by Peter McEvoy, rivals some of the world’s most beautiful.

Interior Description

(250m2) The unique space is divided into three levels. In the basement, the original waterwheel remains, along with the turbine and the gearing mechanism that was once used to power the mill. On the ground floor, there is a kitchen with stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine and air conditioning. There is a dining room with a table for 6, wood stove and air conditioning. On the same floor there is a living room with flat screen TV, DVD player and a bathroom with toilet and sink. There is also a patio for al fresco dining with seating for 6 and a barbeque oven. The first floor above has a master bedroom with a queen size bed (190cm x 150 cm), bathroom with sink, toilet, shower, and a balcony. A washing machine is in the dressing room close to the master bedroom bathroom. There are two more bedrooms with queen size beds (190cm x 135 cm), air conditioning and a bathroom with toilet, sink and shower.
