The original core of the villa dates back to the 12th century, and in 700 the villa became the summer residence of the Bishop of Florence, who decorated most of the rooms and built the small chapel. You’ll enjoy an authentic Tuscan experience without ever leaving the grounds. At the same time, you are within easy reach of Florence by train from Pontassieve and Sieci.

The villa is a 20-minute drive from Florence and 5 kilometers from the town of Molino del Piano. The property is surrounded by quiet streets that can be explored on foot or bicycle. Pontassieve, with a train station (frequent trains to Florence) and restaurants, is 10 km away. There is also easy access to Florence (Santa Maria Novella station) from the railway station in Sieci (5 minutes away), where trains depart to the city every 30 minutes. The golf course, Golf dell’ Ugolino Florence, is 20 kilometers away and can be reached via highway (Firenze Sud).

An uphill asphalt road leads to the villa. The grounds hold 8,000 square meters of private gardens and a swimming pool (5 m x 20 m, depth 1.6 m), both of which are for the exclusive use of villa guests. The villa shares a roof with an adjacent villa that is occupied by a resident—the only shared space is the parking area in the back. From the garden you can see the wall of an adjacent house, but otherwise there is total privacy. The terraced gardens stretch down toward the pool area, which has 8 sun beds and several coffee tables. A pathway with fruit and olive trees leads to a fenced vegetable garden—guests are welcome to pick fruit and vegetables to enjoy during their stay. The panoramic side of the villa is covered with white gravel and has an outdoor dining area for 10 that is shaded by large trees. There are two dogs in a fenced area next to the villa, and animals such as chickens and rabbits live on the property.
- Interior Description

Ground Floor: There is a living room with a couch, two armchairs and a fireplace, with direct access to the garden. The dining room has a table for 8 to 10 people. The kitchen has a dishwasher, double sink, oven, microwave, American coffee maker and large farmhouse table. The kitchen may only be used under staff supervision--staff prepares breakfast daily (food cost is extra), and only breakfast service is available on Thursdays. There is also a guest bathroom with a toilet, a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer, and a wine cellar.
First Floor: There is a TV room with a couch, two armchairs and cable, satellite TV, DVD and VHS players as well as access to another sitting area with a fireplace. The master bedroom has a large king-size bed (190 cm) and an ensuite bathroom with double sink, bathtub, shower, hairdryer, two changing rooms and direct access to both the TV room and sitting area. There is another bedroom with a 140 cm French bed that is comfortable for one and cozy for two, as well as a safe and ensuite bathroom with a small bathtub and hairdryer. There is also a double bedroom (called the blue bedroom) with a large, 175 cm queen-size bed and direct access to a living room with TV and a guest bathroom with a toilet and sink.
Second Floor: There is a double bedroom with a large, 175 cm queen-size bed and access to a studio with an 80 cm narrow single bed (best suited for a child). There is a central bathroom with a double sink. There is another double bedroom with a large queen-size bed (170 cm) and ensuite bathroom with shower.

Please Note:
- The asphalt road to the villa is uphill
- Animals are present on the estate (dogs - fenced, chickens, rabbits, etc)
- Villa is not suitable for children nor elderly people due to many steps at the property
- Kitchen and appliances can be used only with the supervision of the staff (1 person) who will be at disposal of the clients every day but Thursday, from 8 am to 12 pm and 1pm to 10pm. Only breakfast is available on Thursdays. The cost of food is extra for all meals prepared by the staff.
- Included in the rental of the villa is a caretaker who is available for garden maintenance, daily cleaning and the preparation of breakfast (cost of food is extra) 8 hours per day, 6 days a week, between 8 am and 10 pm. His apartment has a separate entrance on a secondary side of the villa, so maximum privacy to the guests is fully respected.
