Customer Reviews
Overall:
We had a wonderful time in Cortona. We had been there 3-4 times previously, so we knew that we loved the town and surroundings. We had a delightful mix of quiet walks, shopping for bags, picnics in the park and at the fortress, wine and snacks at Bar Sport, and excellent evening meals at a very reasonable price.
Enjoyed Most:
Location. Location. Location. Right on Via Nazionale with only pedestrian traffic and only a few steps from museums, restaurants, and the central piazza.
Enjoyed Least:
There was an unpleasant odor in the bathroom; perhaps there was a problem with the drain. Editor's Notes: The plumbing problem has been fixed.
Surrounding Area:
We travelled by train to Orvieto and Castiglion Fiorentino. And walked happily to Le Celle - a comfortable walk outside the walls of the town. Especially enjoyed standing looking out over Val di Chiana - either from the park or from Piazza Garibaldi.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Camucia is probably the next town, though not really within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
I would suggest that the property might work best for a family of 4, rather than 4 adults. With the bathroom off the main bedroom, it is a little difficult for the adults sleeping in the living room. Future renters should definitely not miss FuFluns--it's wonderful trattoria-style food in a warm, friendly atmosphere at very reasonable prices.
