Overall:
Truly wonderful. The warmest, most welcoming, most comfortable and delightful accommodations I've ever had in Europe.
Enjoyed Most:
Charming, beautiful, unpretentious, comfortable villa, with great spaces to relax indoors and out great location for exploring Tuscany incredibly warm and welcoming villa owners with whom we became friends.
Enjoyed Least:
I can't think of anything we didn't like.
Surrounding Area:
Gorgeous, quiet, peaceful setting, with historic churches, country lanes, trails through woods and mountains for running and hiking, while having easy access to nearby groceries, etc.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Tiny villages nearby, most without real town center. Ulmo, with some businesses, grocery, was just a couple of miles. Narrow, fairly high-volume traffic road to it would not have been conducive to walking, but was an easy 5-minute drive.
Special Experiences:
We had a welcome dinner and grocery pre-stocking, from Nadia, the villa owner, both of which were perfect and
beyond our wildest expectations. Chef Elisa gave us a cooking lesson a couple of days later, and prepared an
incredible dinner. And Chef Francesco came and prepared a delicious dinner our last night in the villa. All were
fabulous, and we'd recommend them without hesitation.
Tips or Restaurants:
Nothing specific. The villa had everything we needed, and supplies of all kinds were very nearby. We ate in many good restaurants in Arezzo, Siena, Pisa, Assisi, and small hill towns all over Tuscany (and a bit of Umbria), but enjoyed cooking at home in our villa, and the special meals prepared for us there.
Directions:
The directions we were given were thorough and excellent. We did use a GPS, and I can't imagine doing the exploration of Tuscany we did without one.
Check In Out:
It couldn't have been easier, smoother, or friendlier.
