About The Experience

So, you want to be centrally located in Rome near the historic sites? Here you go! The Monti area of Rome is one of the most ancient, and you will be able to visit such places as the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. On top of that, the area is filled with pedestrian zones, so you can meander and enjoy your stay at this Rome apartment. This is a perfect spot for a honeymoon… or just a romantic retreat for two.

Location Description

The apartment is located on Via del Boschetto in the Monti area of Rome. The area is so called because it is situated between several Roman hills. It is a characteristic area with many pedestrian zones due to the historical buildings and art. The Roman Forums, Trajan’s Column, the Piazza Venezia, and the Colosseum are short walks away. The apartment is just a 5 minute walk away from the Underground Stations Line B “Colosseo” and “Cavour”, and it is well served by the ATAC bus lines 60, 84, 85, 87, 175, 186, 271, 571, 810, 850, and by the electric bus line 117. The closest train station is Termini, just one metro stop from Cavour.

Nearby Attractions: A neighborhood abundant with important historical sites (Roman Forum, Arch of Constantine), the area around the Colosseum is a dream for archaeology buffs. After a full day of sightseeing, head to the Monti neighborhood, a spot growing in favor among locals and visitors. A fashionable bar, La Bottega del Caffe, spills out on to the neighborhood’s main square of Piazza Madonna dei Monti. Ai Tre Scalini is another popular enoteca. Do not miss the vintage market, Mercato Monti, which houses 35 vendors every Sunday (Hotel Palatino Via Leonina 46/48).

Customer Reviews

Overall:
Just what we wanted, a quiet room in the heart of Rome.
Enjoyed Most:
Location, clean and easy to use.
Enjoyed Least:
A little dark.
Surrounding Area:
Wonderful historic district, easy access to sights.
Tips or Restaurants:
We enjoyed a nearby restaurant "Wanted"; good food and ambiance.
Directions:
A local map might help, the nearby streets are small and some are one way... our taxi had no problem, however.
Check In Out:
We had no trouble once we reached Marco, the key holder.

Enjoyed Least:
The lack of lighting and it is very small.
Surrounding Area:
Many of the attractions were within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Just facecloths.
Check In Out:
We called Marco the day before we were due. He met us at the property.

Overall:
It was wonderful to be in the middle of Rome in walking distance of almost all the major sights and experiences. We enjoyed eating in neighborhood restaurants, people watching in our neighborhood square, and being just 50 paces away from a gelato vendor.
Enjoyed Most:
The location. Also, the apartment was clean, neat, and well equipped.
Enjoyed Least:
The bed mattress has seen better days. Unlucky for us (not the property's problem), we had some noisy late night neighbors.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring ear plugs in case of late night noisy neighbors - the nice little courtyard outside the door which forms the center of the building tends to reverberate noise from across the way or above.
Directions:
Just gave the address to the taxi driver at the Termini (train station) and we were there in 5 minutes.
Check In Out:
Thanks to Hassan for meeting us with the keys and explaining the apartment facilities to us. Hassan also gave us hints on were to eat for less (the Trastevere area). Thanks to Marco for coordinating our arrival and having Hassan ready to meet us.
