- About The Experience

What comes to mind when you hear the words “Tuscany vacation rental?” Here are few ideas to get yourself going: Chianti wine, sparking pool, and authentic Italian meals. Located near the largest wine festival of Chianti, this Tuscany apartment is the place to come with your family when you don’t want to have to worry about running out of things to do or even cooking meals, as there is a private restaurant on the property grounds available exclusively for guests. Stay locally in the countryside or venture to more urban areas like Florence or Siena. In any case, this is how holidays in Tuscany should be spent, especially when you are residing in one that looks like a medieval castle!
- Location Description
-
The medieval town of San Polo is located three kilometers from the property. Not only are there plenty of shops, markets, and places to buy groceries and go wine tasting, but San Polo features numerous live events, such as classical music concerts and theater performances. San Polo can be traced back to the eighth century and is famous for its centuries old iris farms. In fact, an international Iris Festival is held here every May where irises are exported all over the world and used in making perfumes and cosmetics. Be sure to visit the 11th century church, the Officina della Music (music hall), and view the abundant vineyards surrounding the town. It’s also nice to know that you’ll be less than half an hour away from Florence, a city rich in architectural and artistic masterpieces. Visit the Piazza San Giovanni, also known as the religious heart of the city, and you’ll see the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, built in the 15th century. Other marvelous attractions include the Ponte Vecchio where you can go shopping, the Accademia Gallery full of Florentine paintings, and of course the Uffizi Gallery. Other possible day trips include San Gimignano and Siena.
Nearby Attractions: San Polo (shops, markets, restaurants, live events, festivals, ancient churches), Greve in Chianti (wine tasting, wine festival), Florence (historical monuments, shops, restaurants), San Gimignano, Arezzo, Siena.

Overall:
Our family very much enjoyed the owners' warm hospitality. They were very accommodating. The view is wonderful and the location is peaceful.
Enjoyed Most:
I enjoyed the cooking class the most. It was a highlight of my trip! I came home with delicious recipes so as to always remember Tuscany.
Enjoyed Least:
The road leading up to the property is very long, steep and full of pot holes so it made it difficult to travel to and from the property. The grounds seemed unkept but the rooms were clean.
Surrounding Area:
The peaceful quiet was wonderful and very relaxing. The town was small yet quaint.
Nearby Events or Locales:
San Polo in Chianti. There was no way to walk to town, we had to drive.
Tips or Restaurants:
Definitely eat at their restaurant in the villa as it was the best food we had on the entire trip! They are truly talented.
Directions:
We had GPS and had no trouble finding it.
Check In Out:
It was smooth. Was unsure about where to park at first as there are no signs.

Great experience. The place is a little hard to get to, but once you're there, it couldn't be more relaxing. Offering dinner on Saturday night is great because you're tired from the trip so you don't have to go out.

It's in a great location. Close to all the things you want to do and see in Tuscany. The owner/operator is very helpful.
Enjoyed Least:
The furniture in the living room seems a little worn, but you get over it quickly.
Surrounding Area:
Everything. It's in a perfect location.
Nearby Events or Locales:
San Paolo, but you could not walk.

We followed the written directions.
