The nearest town to this villa is Montespertoli, and it is definitely filled with enough fun things to do so that you should never get bored. Here you can buy groceries, go wine tasting, visit medieval and ancient castles and churches, shop for souvenirs, attend food fairs, or eat at one of the many restaurants, pizzerias, or wine bars. Festivals are also held throughout the year if you would like to learn more about local and national cultural celebrations, such as the Chianti Wine Festival in June or the Doughnut Festival in March. See the Duomo, the Academy Gallery, and Palazzo Vecchio firsthand, then go shopping in one of the open-air or flea markets filled with antiques and other goods. For more high-end shopping, be sure to visit Via dei Tornabuoni. San Gimignano is also nearby and is one of the most visited villages in Tuscany. Customer Reviews

Overall:
We had an outstanding experience. The villa was even better than the photos indicated, the view was amazing, and Ida and Renato were lovely hosts.
Enjoyed Most:
We had a party of eight so the fact that there were so many living areas -- inside and out -- meant that there was plenty of room for people to gather or to get away from each other. I also liked the way the villa was furnished. Sleeping in a 17th century bed certainly added some authenticity to the experience!
Enjoyed Least:
A slightly larger coffee pot would have been good but otherwise I have no complaints at all about the property
Surrounding Area:
Montespertoli is an unpretentious little market town, not a big tourist spot, and that was actually a plus as it meant you weren't dealing with tourist parking, crowds etc every time you went in to shop.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Monterspertoli is not really in walking distance but it is a short drive.
Tips or Restaurants:
There is a great pasticceria in the main square of Montespertoli, and the local restaurant in Giglia has a terrace with the most amazing views. The restaurants close by were nothing special, but we mainly ate at home so we didn't try everything in the area.
Directions:
I would recommend using Google Earth to get a good look at the road and the property. I did that, and had no difficulty in finding the property as a result.
Check In Out:
No, that was all fine.

Enjoyed Most:
It had everything we could have wanted and more. Lovely antique furniture, beautiful rooms, outstanding views, magnificent landscaping, great swimming pool for adults and kids, outdoor grill and eating area, area for cocktails.
Enjoyed Least:
There was nothing not to like about the property.

Overall:
Wonderful experience. Very peaceful surroundings. Great escape after sightseeing all day.
Enjoyed Most:
Pool, view, quiet surroundings.
Enjoyed Least:
Washer was very old, slow, and did not spin clothes. Kitchen could use sharp knives.
Surrounding Area:
Easy to get to Coop for groceries. Excellent bakery, restaurants nearby.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Montespertoli. Not within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Good pizzeria very close.
Directions:
We used a GPS and I printed out Mapquest directions.
Check In Out:
Easy check in-check out. Owners could not have been nicer or more accommodating. They set up a wine tasting for our group that was wonderful.
